Upon my wide quest in finding a suitable bounty for myself, I searched diligently with a hope of finding the most appealing bounty that is currently at play. However, instead of a good bounty, I found a new form of cheating in the air. I stumbled upon a deceiving trick these bounty-thirsty bastard shits are doing.

Some bounty participants register multiple times in the same bounty with the same account several days apart. They are modifying their username that would deceive the campaign manager.
Example:
First registration:      Mind Control
second registration:  MInd Control

They are altering their username that is not too obvious to notice, thus deceives the campaign manager. The sad part is that both entry are accepted and both receive stakes.

An instance of this case is on the bounty of HashCard, this is their spreadsheet and navigate yourself to the Signature Campaign list.

See the list of users below cheating this campaign:

Most of these cheaters were already accepted in the campaign and gained multiple stakes for the same week number.

Clear cheating, deceiving campaign manager, not to be trusted. I suggest these accounts be kicked off the campaign and be tagged accordingly.

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

As far as I know bounty managers are removing double entries, also I've already seen this kind of behavior somewhere and I don't think they are re-entering campaigns, someone is trying to grab tokens without "work".

I would suggest you to contact their manager.

I have sent a PM to the campaign manager to notify him about this case.

I believe that this is not just a mere "double entry". This is an intentional act of deceit which, in return, fools campaign managers that might lead to double or triple pay for a "work". I believe that this act is an act of an untrustworthy person. An act which is somewhat similar to scam or ponzi scheme.

I did not enter the bounty twice, they are scammers using my profile and creating a double entry with their ETHER address. Before accusing someone make sure you recheck things. I am using this forum for a long time and you think i am stupid enough to create double entry in a campaign i already joined.

Did you get tagged wrongfully? I will fix it and will apologize for it. I'm not going to hold you down and damage your reputation, you are a human being and have the right to take advantage from opportunities. it would only cause unwanted discussions if you are trying to get paid for doing nothing.

Why would you care anyways? you are not a scammer, if you are worried about my tag on you, it wasn't to pick on you, it was to prove a point. or maybe you are worried for something else? I'm posting here because you PMed me. that's why I think that you are talking to me here.

This is exactly what is happening, some are trying to grab free tokens by entering into other active users, the funny thing is that i complained about the same issue to the campaign manager about fake entries in my profile name, there were five fake entries claiming stakes and instead of striking the fake entries he removed me and kept the fake entry. Cheesy Hopefully he will rectify that mistake and before distributing everything good campaign manager will recheck everything, especially double entries.

It is not about me taking advantage, i did not have a clue someone joined in my name once again and usually i am not watching the spreadsheet all the time and no one does in their right sense and usually managers will take care of double entry in the end and for that to accuse without knowing the facts is just immature.
I do not have a problem with the OP as he is a new user and he might have genuinely thought that some long time forum users are entering twice without thinking that scammers are trying to take advantage by using their ETH address and making a double entry on an open spreadsheet, but you are here for some time and you should have known better before tagging someone.

For those of you especially OP and digaran who do not know that, this campaign has a strict KYC rule and you cannot duplicate entries and make sure you double check everything before dragging someone.

Assuming what HaXXOR1337 is saying is true, why would anyone try to enter a near-duplicate username into a bounty?  It just doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me, as there's nothing to gain by this.  Good eyes, OP and I'm glad you notified the bounty managers about this.  For me, this isn't proof enough that there are alt accounts being entered, but it sure is suspicious.

The linking of ETH addresses is still considered the smoking gun of bounty abuse, as digaran has so nicely pointed out.  Maybe he's taking his meds.

There is; that is if the Bounty Campaign Manager is too lazy to check or validate each of his/her participants.
He/she could be rewarding two or even three same bitcointalk usernames with different Ethereum addresses
(Yes, ETH, because this is actually rampant on ETH-Based bounty campaigns)

Which is why the cooperation between the legit participants and the bounty campaign manager is important.
They both have to openly communicate to prevent this way of cheating.
Otherwise, those cheaters would receive rewards with just nearly doing nothing.  Undecided

What are you even talking about, for this campaign we need to register to their website and verify your identification and why on earth i would cheat and get stakes to the same address, i am in the forum for two years almost and i participated in only a few campaigns so far because i do not get time and you think that i am trying to take advantage of it, its stupidity to accuse without knowing the truth, there are many double entry from scammers and once you notice the double entry you usually inform the campaign manager rather than accusing people and tagging users who are not aware that someone entered the campaign once again with a fake entry.

PS:You need to enter your mail ID before joining, lets hear from the campaign manager whether those two entries are from the same mail ID and the same IP registered in their website.

It's very little effort with a chance to get a free reward.
I can't be absolutely certain HaXX0R1337 is innocent (after all, I don't know anything about him), but from what I've seen in bounty abuse, it's much more likely someone else tries to steal his stakes.

Quote
It just doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me, as there's nothing to gain by this.
If the bounty manager doesn't pay attention, the tokens can be send to the cheater's address. For this campaign I don't even see addresses in the spreadsheet, which makes even less sense. Then again, I gave up trying to make sense of bounty cheaters, they just enter whatever rubbish they can without understanding anything. (If you want to try to make sense of bounty cheaters, this is a nice  example, submitted by what I can only describe as a drunk plagiarism copy/paste randomizer bot. Cheaters are amazingly creative to steal Stakes.)

As a bounty manager, I wouldn't care much about the usernames provided. I'd search for duplicate UIDs (and duplicate addresses). The first one to enter the real UID is likely to be the real account owner.

This is an adverse side effect of running clean campaigns: participants are required to submit their entries outside of Bitcointalk, but anybody can pretend to own your account.
My preferred solution would be to let Google Docs scrape Eth addresses from the Bitcointalk profile, I'm still working on a proof of concept.

I'm not on DT. don't talk to me like I am. besides trust is not moderated. if people can tag me and nobody is asking them why or nobody cares, why should I care? nobody gives a fuck about me. they just want a slave to spend time on finding cheaters and reward me with DT power so that I could bully others.
