Honestly, Mt Gox is absolutley ridiculous. The BTC price dropped from ~$12 to ~$10 in the time it took to log me in and allow me to input a trade. What the hells wrong with that site?

Use the API, write a bot, move to a location closer to the MtGox server, stay logged in, type faster, disable images in your browser... :-/

if you really wanted to sell at $12, you could have put in an order yesterday.

I dare say my hindsight is as powerful as yours Smiley Who knew what it was going to today. The point is - you should be able to log into that site at any time in under a minute, not 10-15 like it took to log in + add a trade

hindsight tells me that yesterday one would have been more inclined to sell for $12, not less inclined.

...but i get your point about the slow site... i hope they can upgrade soon.

Confirm terrible mtgox performance ... typical page load time is 20-30 seconds, up to 2-3 minutes at active times

Come on, that site can run off $10/month VPS, can't they afford $10?

I had an old $13 ask, but it didn't quite get there.

With a big one-time buy order like this (or a big single sell-off order), you don't get to log in and sell at the new price, since after it is filled, it's not like everyone else has instantly increased their buy price too. Trade prices will correct quickly, you had to have had an ask (sell) order in the system to help fulfill the instantaneous big buy order.

The site is being slowed down by taster bots that keep putting the same orders in every five seconds.

Not even close. You have no idea what you're talking about.

Also, if you want to be day trading you really should be using, at the least, a standalone front-end (goxsh, etc). Also, think longer term. Don't get caught up in emotion, that's how the bots make money off of you.

I go by threestar most places.

It's foresight that separates the good traders from the bad ones, not the time it takes to place a trade.  Wink

And with the fee that we are paying for the trades, they have enough money to do this!

We do, and we do.

Only case is if you are attacking MtGox, our ddos protection service (prolexic) will slow you down/block you.
