To forgive is human.
It's also less stressful.
There is a flaw in this logic. Forgive so easily without having even found the person behind it only encourages more to act as the thief.

Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

I remembered a post here that calculated that MyBitcoin may have as much as a million and a half in bitcoins
All I hear is someone (you) wildly speculating that MyBitcoin had 10 times more than the published figure. If you're going to keep bandying about the 8million USD figure etc - please post a reference. I'm in total agreement with you, this figure is wild speculation. I have seen estimates posted on this site ranging from 100 thousand to 1 and 1/2 million btc that were on deposit with Mr. Williams. I also saw that asset statement from supposedly Mr. Williams on August 7, 2011 posted on this site claiming appx. 70,000 btc. Which quote would you like to use? Does anyone really know how much was deposited into MyBitcoin over the years. Yes, my figure is taken from the high side estimate but the fact remains that whatever the amount that was under his control, he still has 51% that he doesn't have to account for. I see by your post that you seem to know the published figure. Use that as a guide to come up with your own figure at the current btc rate.Let's be conservative and use his figure, appx. 70,000 at the appx current rate of 9 usd = 630,000 less 49%= 321,300. That's what he's going to walk away with, 51% of his depositers funds. Does that clarify what I'm trying to say? 70,000 or 1 1/2 mill, doesn't matter. And as for a reference just search Mybitcoin assets on this site.

Just asking, are you feeling positive having lost half your coins?
trollish... but I had the same thought. On the bright side, it's 49% more than 0 which is what he thought he had. 49% more than 0 is 0 49% is 49% more than 0 %0 * 1.49 = 0 Let's say we have 100 bitcoins. 0% of those bitcoins is 0 bitcoins. 49% more than 0 bitcoins is still 0 bitcoins. You don't simply "add" percentages together. So are you saying 2% is not one percent more than 1%?

You don't simply "add" percentages together. So are you saying 2% is not one percent more than 1%? 49% of 100 = 49 and 0% of 100 = 0 (Given) 49% + 0% = 49 + 0(If a = b then a + c = b + c)* 49% can be added to 0%(If 49 can be added to 0 and 49% + 0% = 49 + 0, then 49% + 0% is a valid equation. This direct proof states %s can be added. The flaw in your logic is in sentence three (49% more than 0 bitcoins is still 0 bitcoins.) 49% (this is 49% of 100 thus it equals 49) more than 0 is 49 bitcoins. *basically this states you can replace something in an equation with something of equal value and the equation will still hold true.

I believe he meant to say zero percent instead of just zero, but to not be too formal he just said zero.
"49 BTC is more than 0" Here you understand i mean zero BTC "49 per cent is more than 0" While here you understand i mean zero per cent.

I'm kind of angry at this, I had 1 bitcoin in there. But now I made my own encrypted flash-drive bank. So I guess that's what I get for not thinking this through .
