Some people are saying Ripple has nothing do to with cryptocurrency and shouldn't be counted as one.

Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse said at the Yahoo Finance Conference in February: I don't use Ripple as a crypto currency. It is not a currency. Companies seem to prefer the term "digital assets."

No you cannot say that Ripple is a real cryptocurrency. It is looks more like a centralized system, which is the the very opposite of what a good cryptocurrency should look like. For me, Ripple is a sort of banking system for transferring value. That being said, I do think Ripple has its place in the current constellation of things, probably as a new type of payment technology.

Many are confusing the RippleNet with xrp. Ripple is a cryptocurrency but it's bashed because it contains centralized features which notably is the number of coins help by the dev or start up itself.

This website shows some centralization data

Take a look ate ripple here.

Fully centralized. But I agree, they have a place in the cryptocurrency world.

The use of Ripple is independent of the Ripple network in general; that is, banks don't actually need XRP to transfer dollars, euros, etc
which is what many small investors might be missing when they are buying the token.and also cause a few insecurities

But seriously, ripple on the long term is worth the risk

They are right.

Ripple itself has absolutely no function.
It is not needed to buy services from ripple, operate the platform, anything.

Literally, the only thing it is for is to trade it and make money off of it.

So why would a company like Ripple even make something with blockchain technology?
Simple: it is so they can get easy funding and cash out.

The majority of XRP is held by the company and they systematically sell it off to cash in.
This is one of the major reasons why people hate ripple so much.
They act like a corrupt big bank (and offer services to big banks).

Ripple is centralized  and is manipulated by bankers. Now a days XPR has partnership with many financial institutions for payment transfer purpose.XPR is good for short term trading but for long term its not good. Its basically overpriced and shit coin.It can crash any time if you hold it for long time.

I do not own XRP and has no plan on buying it. It is a cryptocurrency but lost the essence of being one. It is not fully decentralized, and is only for the benefit of the company.

Ripple is cryptocurrency.
It is not like the other coins, because it is centralised and this is presenting the opportunity to be controlled and manipulated.

"Some people say..." Well, some people are too lazy to actually read what Ripple is about. There is a whitepaper. The thing about Ripple is that it is a private company, not really decentralized, and it is there to help the banks reduce some international transaction costs and do them in a much more efficient way. Among many other things. So please do your own research and don't rely on what "some people" say.

Ripple only developing the blockchain to be offered to the governement and it should not be counted as cryptocurrency. It hasn't had any  purpose to compete with bitcoin as the cryptocurrency. Ripple just a centralized experiment to the banker. look at the majority of news in the ripple related to the bankers financial system.

Ripple to me always seemed like joining the vegans club and then celebrating with a bacon sandwich. Sure if you want a centralized crypto it's a great investment.

Ripple is the same cryptocurrency as everyone else, but it is centralized. I think ripple could fly to the moon in the future.

Ripple is undisputable crypto because the current ripple is crypto in the top 3 under Coinmarketcap, just behind ETH. Ripple is a very potential project when linking banks around the world and applying their technology in accelerating transaction processing speed in banks. So the Ripple could be a potential project in the future.

It is a distributed payment protocol, several institutions like banks have adopted its system that allowed secure and instant payments of any size and almost free, improving the process of banking transactions.

I believe the ripple is really a cryptocurrency. Ripple is a very popular altcoin, it has a very large capitalization at the 3 rd coinmarketcap. It is widely accepted by banks and used in trading, every day the ripple has a huge trading volume. Although there are many defects as it is controlled by the company, I believe the ripple still has good potential, and in the future it will grow stronger. Now the Ripple price is quite low, I will use all the savings to buy more Ripple.
