Common shared account for bounty management allowed?

Hi

Some of our team members have individual accounts here on froum which we do not share with anyone. But we want to create an official account for bounty management whose login details will be shared with some of our core team members.Is this allowed according to forum rules?

Some of our members are based in different geographical locations. is it okay if they login and use one account from different ips and location?

Some big startup business ran by nothing but throwaway accounts? Why would people trust that?

I mean, if you believe in what you are doing and are out to do solid business (AKA not scam) why wouldn't you put the reputation of your "team" behind your business?

It's not like you need to protect your accounts from negative trust because you will be doing the right thing correct?


And yeah, in my opinion you can have alt accounts and have shared accounts for spreadsheets or for your business or whatever, no problem especially if you are transparent about it..

Alt accounts only should get hit if they are scammers, trying to scam, are spamming/shitposting, or are bought accounts.. Just be good and you're straight for the most part..

I'm almost positive that sharing an account is alright, because I feel like I've seen other businesses doing it in the past without any fuss. I wouldn't take my word as gospel, but I believe that this is acceptable under the rules. Just understand that once you link yourselves through a single account it is possible that if one of you does wrong then the finger will be pointed at all of you. I would be extremely careful who you share an identity with, as you will catch yourself being responsible for the actions and words of others.

Yes, I agree with your views. I understand that being responsible matters a lot. Asking and clarifying doubts to adhere to forum rules is first step in this regard. There is no point doing something which is against the forum's code of conduct as we want to make sure that whatever we are doing must be legit. You point regarding taking collective responsibility is well respected.

To prove my point, none of us have an alt account here thus far. Thats why we want to make an account which everyone of us can use but at the same time being responsible for whatever that shared account does.

Some body with bad intent would not ask for anything legit. Rather they shall go ahead and do.

Alright, I got the point. The point of making a common account is to have an account with shared credentials. And there is no intention of buying the account rather making an account that grows organically under the ambit of forum rules.

Just FYI in case you didn't know, none of the people who answered your question are staff, nor am I.  I'm not sure if staff will stop by to answer it, but they do tend to do just that eventually.  It would probably be good if one of them answered this question.

My own non-staff opinion is that it's not a problem at all.  Even having multiple accounts here is allowed, and I have never seen a rule against multiple individuals sharing the same one--but I'd say you're doing the right thing by asking first.  That's more than most bitcointalkers would do.

What isn't kosher is entering one account into multiple campaigns/bounties, or having multiple accounts using the same ETH or btc address, but it doesn't sound like that's your intention.  That's not even a forum rule anyway, but it's something the community enforces.  Good luck.

So in general I see that there is no defined rule for it untill everything is done transparently with no malicious intent.

If some staff member could ultimately vet it, that would just be great. Ty

and I'm unsure about the ban evasion happening as a result.

I would assume that by sharing an account you are accepting the responsibility of everyone that logs into that account and any alternate accounts that you have or anyone that has accessed that account would then be considered ban evading. Otherwise it would just be too difficult to prove who the person was posting at the time of the ban.

How are ban evasions handled with shared accounts. In a regular ban scenario, a user is banned (as a person) and thus all their accounts are banned.
If an account with shared access from users X gets banned, are all users affected by this ban, or is just the user that caused the ban (thus violated forum rules) banned together with their shared account.
If so, how is it determined which user is affected by/included in the ban.

AFAIK it's on a case by case basis. In this case, the primary owner of the account is apparent so he's the one responsible.
