It just happened again. Bitcoin just pushed hard again through 850 and lower. Big selling.

*THEN* bitcointalk goes down.

It happened the last time when bitcointalk was hijacked.

So, the question is -- Is this a coordinated effort?

I'm not suggesting bitcointalk is involved, but is someone who is dumping, not want people talking about it while it's happened??

Occam's razor would indicate the opposite, simpler theory.

People want to get informed before going into Panic mode.

Yup, everyone does. But not everyone is reading the forum 24x7.

Just as exchanges see increased volume on those moments, the forum does too.

Don't know if you know, but we are currently at the ATH of active users in the forum.

I'm not sure why bitpop gave you attitude.  Coordinated DDoS attacks on bitcoin sites happen frequently and site administrators have proof of this; from my experience, many DDoS attacks correlate with large dumps of coins on the exchanges.
