Seems like the appropriate forum.

I know this script inspired many others and now I finally have a cheap web host with "fairly good" perl cgi support.
So I touched it up a bit, turned on strict, added some forms and tada:

http://memslist.com/list/roulette.pl

Try out your martingale strategy (dual martingale supported) and see what the odds are Smiley
Sim will run up to 10'000 runs, obviously i can let it run longer but dont want to strain my host to much Smiley

I hate the American Roulette with Double 0, seriously makes no sense.

as you have noted, I dont even bother simulating the double 0 (daylight robbery).

my favourite strategy is to find a machine/ table with a wide gap on the min and max bet and start doing multiples of 3 assuming I can afford to run the system 8-9 times.
Sounds dangerous but if your like me and like to start out on pennies and dont mind busting out on your $10/$50 pot quickly some nights it makes for a fun ride.

Also, I noted several pokies that ran roulette games had an attract mode that was remarkably easy to pick (basically wait for all the grannies to start having fun), Id jump on and start my system from 1-5c and easily double my money. I could tell they were not used to accommodating this particular method on the pokie machine by emptying the machine out 3 times in 1 night.

All that being said, Im happiest playing video poker/ texas holdem/ roulette (occasionally if I feel like matingaling).
Horse betting is great fun, but ONLY if you can actually be there @ the race track, watch the horses do their warm ups and then grab a beer and lurk @ the finish line Smiley track meets ftw.

Added longest run of black n red records down the bottom, handy for people who dont believe you can get 7-8 colours in a row.

I'll soon be adding seed support, but need to get hostgator to install:
Math::Random::MT;

Will this make me rich?   Grin

only if your a casino operator and a user runs the sim once, gets great results and comes stampeding to your tables to run their system.
it is a good way to play with multipliers though.

Im hoping this will help people AVOID martingaling not encourage it, still if you do, do so only with amounts you feel safe losing.

Yeah, I don't think I'm ever going to try martingaling again after I lost something like 1.5 BTC to roulette when BTC was over $1000 each. You win a bit and then you end up losing it all.

martingaling can work, you wait for like 18-20 reds and then start betting, and again it's pure luck whatever you do.

However your chance of winning the next spin will be exactly the same.

Is that waiting for 18-20 reds in a row? Cause i am thinking that may be somewhat of a loong wait.

The whole premise of probability in mathematics is that the past event doesn't have any implication on the result of the future event. If it were true - it would be possible to use a specific set of patterns to choose the most apt point in time to place a bet giving you +EV. So basically, martingale doesn't exactly work regardless of when.

Very true, my thought on this is that this makes you more brave and nothing else. Like damn 20 numbers below 50, 21st will for sure be over 50,  but then again if there was 20 reds it can be 21 or 25.

But we wll all agree that there are days with and without luck, try few bets and see how all goes

It can, Ive emptied a few roulette based slot machines using my x3 multiplier when its in attract mode.
At the same time Ive had a steak of 11 black numbers + 2 green 0's while betting on red which is enough to bust my system.

imho it just makes the game more fun for yourself, all a gambling system really does is give you a new way to play the same game.
Id personally be bored of roulette after 3-5 bets if I didnt enjoy the odd martingale on a cheap table (5-10c min bet with a max of 10-$50 (swap tables when I hit max)).
