Offering up my webspace to whoever wants it for file space.
I have 150gb of webspace with unlimited bandwidth.
Will host any files from/for any country of any content for up to a week.
I'm only charging 0.0254 per mb.

Let me know what I can do for you ^.^

Offering up my webspace to whoever wants it for file space.
Will host any files, for/from any country, for as long as you want.
I'm only charging 0.05 btc per file.

Zip'd and rar'd files count as 1 file(so you could toss 20+ files into a rar or zip file and it would only cost you 0.05 btc),but if you had say, 30 of those rar files it would cost you 1.5 btc to upload them.

Let me know what I can do for you ^.^

Might be good for others but really bad idea for you.

It's really better for you to charge by the size than by number of files. Unless you have unlimited bandwidth in terms of both speed and data transfer limits, a few people uploading and downloading 4~8GB ISO will kill your service really fast.

forget an iso what about an entire music(40-60gb) or video(1+tb) library packed as a single .rar file

I have 150gb of webspace and unlimited bandwidth so yeah, it's pretty much free webspace.
Although I never thought of doing it by the size... would rack more btc.

The webspace up to 150GB may be free but if your webhost is promising "unlimited" bandwidth, it's time you look around for another webhost because the current one isn't being wholly honest except possibly in the very fine print you probably didn't read Wink

That's nowhere near unlimited Wink
3GB of data transfer is peanuts, I've got customers who do many times more than that regularly.

Keep in mind that "bandwidth" refers to two different thing.
1. Speed of the connection e.g. 1Mbps
2. Total data transfer e.g. 3GB per month

"Unlimited" bandwidth usually does one of 3 things
1. Cap total connection speed, e.g. 2Mbps, this puts a hard limit on how much data can really be transferred
2. No connection speed cap, but cap total data transfer
3. Suspend account for "abuse" if they cross certain bandwidth and load limits

Somebody's got to pay for the bandwidth and storage, there is only that much bandwidth and storage available to the entire world.

Still not convinced, google about it, or write a script to test out where your limits really are (but might get your account suspended) Cheesy

Go Daddy expressly reserves the right to review every Account for excessive space and bandwidth utilization, and to terminate or apply additional fees to those Accounts that exceed allowed levels.

When Spleeder and I were getting the files uploaded onto the site for eptiv.com he said it was going at 200kb/s and I'm guessing that's where the cap is, but I've got files up faster since I'm using SmartFTP and server can handle 20 simultaneous connections going at once.
As far as eating only 3b of bandwidth being peanuts, the site's been up since August First and the only use it's really gotten is hosting thebitcardstore.com(which is as low lag as a site gets). Like I said, we were gonna use it to host eptiv.com but couldn't execute 2 files needed to run the site so we went with rackspace on that account instead.

Point being: I'm paying for 150gb of webspace and unlimited bandwidth and until I'm told otherwise by the webhoster, it's unlimited bandwidth.

EDIT: Here's some tests from my machine. Keep in mind i'm running a barebones xp pro system with 512mb, 1--gb hdd, etc..

to upload a 35mb file, it took 5min up, and 4 seconds down.
to upload a 65mb file, it took 10min up, and 6 seconds down.

I was getting 200kbps up, and 3mbs down. Large movies or dvd/blu-ray rips are definatly out of the question unless you want to spend 8+ uploading it. Service is still good for uploading images, music, text, small videos and anything else that's not over 300mb lol.

I've got a dedi that I could use to test your speeds.

Also:
There is an unlimited amount of bandwidth in the world. It is ABSOLUTELY free to transfer data.
The only cost is what a company makes you pay for stuff like switches and the cost to lay down fiber ( estimated $100 a foot http://www.isp-planet.com/business/fiber_price_bol.html ).
Having a company charge a monthly Fee for data transferred keeps what we like to call "Job Security."

3Gb in 2 weeks is much? LOL I have websites that pump out 7GB/hour. And lousy websites i must say  Roll Eyes
I've pumped 60mb/s and I've got proof from my host.

I should add that not every day they get that ammount of traffic, thank god lol

Yeah I mean, I put up the bitcard site and I don't think anyone went to it lol.
That spike is from when Spleeder and I were swaping files to get epiv.com online on his end, and I was trying different carts that accepted bitcoins on my end lol.

But still.. my service of file hosting remains. I know there has to be folks out there that need to store files.
If I don't get any business I think I'm going to downgrade my package to basic. I dunno. The enticement of unlimited bandwidth got me.

I've edited my post, for the following reason: those 7GB/hour should mean 7GB in 1 hour, when the traffic flows for real. The rest of the day they pump out as much as they do in that hour Smiley

This is decent idle at 1 in the morning lol...

EDIT: I'll be damn  Shocked 40,6 PetaBytes/s  Shocked Shocked Shocked

Don't ask cause i dunno what it was. Just found it funny as hell. Even a massive DDoS would't push all this traffic lol
1024b = 1Kb
1024Kb = 1Mb
1024Mb = 1Gb
1024Gb = 1Tb
1024Tb = 1Pb (Petabites)

I hardly doubt you or any server could push 1 let alone 40Pb a second.

Seriously? This went from talking about the service I'm offering to talking about bandwidth and who owns who.
Point being: I'm offing a service with what I have. If folks don't want to try me out, that's fine but I will keep at it until someone does.
