Question? Why are hardware companies not just using the hardware themselves???

can someone answer me this question.  If the companies themselves that manufacture the hardware systems why don't they just make then and mine for themselves?  Rather than sell?   Doesn't make any sense to me.

Because if tomorrow bitcoin was worthless, then they have nothing. So why not sell $8 million in hardware in a weekend on a sure-thing?

Dont think them fools.
They dont have millions to invest, or they don't want to. some guys on here could afford to buidlt here own farms lol.

They take your pre orders, and if they are smart use each sale to buy 1.5-2 units and keep one for themselves.

They make us pay for their hardware Plus it's a quick reliable buck, with no recourse to refund and they can take their sweet ass time producing hardware.

No other sale's companies int he world could pull what these guy's get away with

They do ,simple ,
Take butterfly labs they take your money build the rigs ,mine till difficulty get reasonably high then ship them to the customer ,very successful scam .

Well I think what they did was what I mentioned but used all the initial profits to buy their own rigs, than once they were established they got more in for customers. dont think anyone got a dusty rig

If you look around online at what is actually on sale it is very little. Even eBay is scarce in hardware. I think the makers are all building and mining for themselves.
They will probably start selling if the btc value drops or they run out of room in the factory to place more units.

They also sell them for more in bitcoins than they will ever return mining. There is no free lunch in mining.

But they are already doing it, sometimes just stress-testing but sometimes looking to earn some extra coins until the next rise in difficulty, thus affecting the profitability of their customers' investments. AFAIK BFL, Avalon and KNC all used to do it.

Bitcoin even at $1200 is like the 4th or 5th most profitable crypto to mine.  Keep that in mind girls...

they all will most likely mine with them for at least a couple days/weeks and tell it was a testing run. Can't blame them.

On top its pretty hard to get a huge farm running and you don't have customers giving you million $ to produce the chips.

Its much easier to run just a few for a period of time before shipping them and already got paid months ago.
Why should they keep them?
