There has been a lot of discussions about the trademark BITCOIN. In my oppinion nobody has understood the trademark BITCOIN till now.

I think you can compare it with jeans. You can not register the word jeans as a trademark. But there are trademarks like Levi's, Lee and so on. It is the same with a digital currency. There is Bitcoin, Litecoin and so son. It is impossible to register digital currency as a trademark. But you can register the word BITCOIN. Bitcoin is a trademark.

I doubt this will be registered as a trademark. It's like getting "jeans" or "gold" registered as a trademark and even if it passes through the first level of checking there will be sufficient complaints.

It is not a problem to register the word jeans or the word gold. It is totally legal. Think about the trademark APPLE.

Probalby there won't be an opposition, because there seems to be no older mark, which collides with the trademark BITCOIN. I think, the person, who registered the trademark BITCOIN in India has good chances to become rich.
