Hi all,

Just chasing some opinions if I may.
I'm clearly new to this but have been pool-mining Protoshares for a couple of says through ypool.net. Not going very quickly, more about education at this stage. Just interested in peoples opinions of small Protoshare mining operations.

Any long term value or time to get serious about some more mainstream and growing coins.

Cheers,
C.

If I was a dev I would create the RAT. Rice Analogue Trader.  I would be combined Pow/Pos and Pow would be CPU only in a way similar to XPM, as in it would contribute to the scientific community. Preferably running some genetic algorithms or some such fancy talk.  A tiny fraction of every transaction would become part of a fund which automatically and securely distributed it's RATs to a series of charities which worked towards creating food security in area's affected by climate change and what not.

I'm also new to this, and have been playing around with mining PTS last 4 days.

I've found that when I mine with the pool (and miner) located at ptsweb.beeeeer.org the hash rates are lower, but the return is higher.

I tried ypool and their optimized miners today. The hash rates were much higher, but the actual PTS deposited seemed lower.

ypool PTS had 53K users earlier today. I believe beeeeer has far fewer users and also a lower rate. Why the difference at this point I can only speculate.

Thanks Ocean.

Interesting observation about the returns to speed ratio. So much to learn! But obviously the main goal is returns so maybe I'll point one of my slow systems at that pool.

I am finding ypool slightly disorientating with its constantly shifting 'shares'.
