Like a lot of people have said here. Apple is a control freak. It's their policy and has been for a long time. They're an embodiment of everything that could go wrong with capitalism.

the ironic thing about apple from the 80's was that it was counter-culture and spoke against the authority (that told you what to do and what not to)... take a look at this commercial about the book "1984." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2zfqw8nhUwA

apple basically told you to say "fuck the man," at least until it became the man.

Apple has itunes, which in itself is a payment service. They would prefer a future where you pay for your groceries with your iphone using itunes credits or some other 'iPayment' system. Thats why they don't like bitcoin. It's competition, competition they don't earn money from.

it's pretty much this. also apple want a cut of every payment sent through an app. paypal is only on there because it's so big - apple would love to fuck them off too.

Once they figure they are losing customers to android for things like this, they will review their policy.

too late, once nokia realized customers started moving because of their crappy OS (even though they had pretty cool phones, hardware-wise) they were no longer market leader. And even though they did change their policy, they are nowhere near as popular as they used to be.

I like apple OSX, but Apple crushes any innovation outside it's circle.

knowing apple, they'll probably register the "iBitcoin" trademark and then sue the bitcoin foundation for copyright infringement. then they will come out with some sappy commercial with instrumental music, and then at the end you'll see on your tv "this changes everything." then in a few years, they will come out with a revolutionary payment system that complements iBitcoin, which is called iScrewyouover

This is so true.. With so many patent battles and a closed ecosystem, what did you expect?   Cheesy

Apple is to try their iMoney, then bitcoin are competition.. when they will realize that iMoney is'nt good for them, maybe they will open their mind to Bitcoin.. They will be late adopter, and meanwhile are missing tons of profits by not economizing tx fees !

I'm pretty sure apple is anti-Bitcoin because they know too well about the Tor network.
