No bid yet?  I'm kind of disappointed.

I'm afraid it's because of these pictures that I've made without the flash under artificial ligthning.  The colors are not very good.

Here is a short video of me playing around with the coin:

I will be bidding soon;
once I can log back in to my bidding pond...

Does it come in a little box too?

I have one already but yours looks a few years older;)

It seems that putting the mp4 file on the freeshell messes with file rights somehow.

So I put the video on dailymotion instead:

Yes, I'm talking to you guys!

You probably have a huge amount of bitcoins, and that must feel good, I guess.

Maybe you convert it into cash, maybe you just hoard your bitcoins until you can buy really great stuffs with them.  I don't know and that is none of my business.

But wouldn't it be nice to diversify a bit and put some of your bitcoins into an other non-inflating currency?  Wouldn't you like to put some of wealth in a nice, classic gold coin?

You can do so, and it can even be fun, since you will be taking part in an on-line auction (believe me: auctions can be fun).

So here you go:  http://www.biddingpond.com/item.php?id=312

happy bidding!

Will you be selling any 1 ounce gold coins? The smaller ones just have too much overhead to be used as an investment. I don't own any gold (except for my wedding ring), but I would like to buy an ounce sometime.

Yes I will!  But right now I prefer experiment both biddingpond and the bitcoin community purchase power with small coins.

if you're lucky @bidding than the price might be right. auction includes shipping fees, if you have old btc around, this might be a nice way of spending and keeping your purchase price low.
and when you need to sell gold, it's nice to have also a small coins to sell if you don't need to sell the big one. depends on how you want to store your gold.

increments of 20 franc are nice and they have an interesting lesson built in - the latin monetary union, where the 20 swiss francs were equal by its gold content to 20 francs in france, belgium, (in other names but still equal to 20) greece, italy, spain, romania, bulgaria, etc. i missed the french 20 francs already (not really miss but was outbid ..)

You can't build a reputation on what you are going to do.

Agreed.  A big advantage on small coins is that they are much more liquid than big ones.

Gold is getting closer to its record high guys!

I suck at maths, but I'm pretty sure that 205 BTC is not a very high bid!

I suck at maths, but I'm pretty sure that 205 BTC is not a very high bid!

Gold price = 1430 USD/oz
Gold content of coin = 0.1866 oz
BTCUSD = 0.9

Value of gold coin = 1430 * 0.1866 / 0.9 = 296 BTC

Freight might be something like 25 BTC.

Current bid is 280 BTC.

Sorry, I can't help you with your lost password.

Well, it's not as if I hadn't let you guys a lot of time.  I guess it's the reward for people bidding early.

I'll sell an other one once this one has been received by the buyer.  You'll get an other chance Smiley

I prefer wait until my current buyer receives the coin.  It can be a week or so.
