I downloaded bitcoin-0.3.24-linux.tar.gz  , unpacked it  and ran ' bitcoin-0.3.24 ' in terminal. (I am using Ubuntu 10.04).

Got a pop-up showing my first Bitcoin Address and the related items - send, receive , history, make new address.

Now in my Home I have a .bitcoin folder which cannot be accessed (at lest the folders inside cannot be accessed).

But if i click on ' bitcoin-0.3.24 '  which is still in my Downloads folder I go to --> bin -->32 --> bitcoin --> the innitial pop-up window with the first address and the rest.

Is this the correct way to access my Bicoin Addresses (i.e by clicking on  ' bitcoin-0.3.24 ' ) ?

Thanks
Raeldi

I'm not exactly sure what you mean. If you downloaded Bitcoin from the normal site, in the map you should have a file called "Bitcoin" with the Bitcoin logo on this. Opening it will show you your "wallet" which can be used for transactions. So, as you're seeing the wallet like everyone does, I don't see the problem.
