BitcoinAutoNode.sh is a script designed for fresh, cheap Ubuntu VPSs to change your root password, and then automatically enable a firewall, update the OS, include ppa:bitcoin, install bitcoind, set bitcoind to start on reboot, and then reboot.

I'm posting it here with the hope that someone finds some use for it.

Looks nice. Only thing is most people may want to install bitcoin from a source they know is secure. Wonder if its worth having the user have the option to download the bitcoin source and have the script compile for them?

Either way, nice addition to the community!

This is a good idea.  Have it pull from github, compile, install and run.  Doesn't take long to compile.

What would be super cool, is have it automatically update periodically.

I think automatic update could get a little dicey. Some users may want control over that, so I guess making that configurable would suffice. I usually want to make sure a new update is working for others before I upgrade ;p
