I know I am not likely to make any friends saying this, but with the way things are at the moment with fee's there is very little motivation for miners to include transactions in their blocks.  It does add a slightly higher risk of having your blocks orphaned though (slightly).

It is not all that productive for the network and it is not something I would do if I solo mined (never going to do that anymore) or if I were running a pool (shoot me first before I do that) but there it is.

there used to be a shitload of blocks w/ just the single 50 coin transaction

and i would say both parties are being greedy, but the greediest are the ppl that want to toss 0 transaction fee in their stuff

How is this a dick move on the part of the miner?  Was he or she somehow responsible for content of the block he or she mined?
