I had never really heard of bitcoin until my roommate mentioned it to me last year. I thought it was a novel concept/idea and started running some miners.
I made a few coins before some of the initial value jumps and was rather happy with my return on investment until i saw the value continue to grow at an alarming rate in the past few months.
Simply staggering!  Started buying back in and looking back into this unique world.

Just curious how other people got started/introduced and what scared you off and/or renewed your interest?

For me it was a fear of the economy spiraling downwards and not having a safe place to put money I've worked hard for.  Also I always wanted to make money in the tech industry and this seems like an exciting way to invest.
