Just last night my Bitcoin QT client started getting all wonky on me. Luckily I have backed up my wallet.dat file, so I'm not freaking out, but this is becoming a pain in the ass. I'm somewhat technically literate, but all the Googling I have done to figure out what is going on is way over my head.
I have managed to look at the debug file in Users/Library/Application Support/Bitcoin, and have identified the trouble area, but I have no idea what it means or how to fix it.
received block 0000000000000002f1cbee31294d567a37509a1ad6805f0517452a3db2db1de7 Flushing wallet.dat Flushed wallet.dat 30ms connection timeout Unable to open file /Users/me/Library/Application Support/Bitcoin/blocks/rev00077.dat ERROR: CBlockUndo::WriteToDisk() : OpenUndoFile failed *** Failed to write undo data
Some of the reading I have done says that it could have something to do with an open files limitation on OSX, but I don't see anything in my system log file (/var/log/system.log) that says "too many files".
My first thought would be to update the Bitcoin QT client, but I am nervous about updating. I don't want to make the problem worse.
Edit: Had mistaken Bitcoin QT version number in subject title.
