This application is a continuation of U.S. Ser. No. 09/497,307 filed Feb. 3, 2000 I have read the patent, and it has no invention. It's just a bunch of words that are unpatentable and obvious, Such as "159. The method of claim 155, wherein the host server determines if the account associated with the payer has sufficient funds to make the payment." Ooh, wow, what a novel idea that we'd check first to see if they have money. Chase received this patent in 2012 for "Method and system for processing internet payments using the electronic funds transfer network", once again, completely obvious not just to anyone skilled in the art, but anyone with an IQ over 90. It looks like the bank has positioned itself as a patent troll. http://0-www.google.com.library.ccbcmd.edu/patents/US8452703Patents are for inventions, not just some idea that you can't prove you have ever made work.

JPMCoin - hilarious. One thing that is guaranteed, the U.S. government will not take efforts to regulate it.
That is where you are 100% incorrect! ANYTHING a bank does falls under direct government control from the get-go and that may well be the point! Think about it. My $.02.

I wouldn't be surprise if The devil worshipers cult Illuminati patent something called "H2O"
It means, anyone drinking water will receive a fine of $250.
All living beings on Earth must now drink blood to survive.

we already receive a fine. its called the price of bottled water. or our water utility bill.. but talking about patents. there is no need to drink blood.. starbucks and pepsi are more likely to petent pure h20, meaning that you cant drink plain water,. they will however allow caffeine added coloured water known as coffee or pepsi... at a price

If bitcoin or crypto wants to be taken seriously by the general public, people are going to have to drop the terms in likes of 'illuminati' or 'new world order'.
Try not to give the media any more reason to call crypto a currency for clowns, please.
Besides, when people speak about such things without obviously knowing anything about them, it really doesn't do themselves any favors.

I don't see where this effects bitcoin much at all. Except those users who take the OP seriously. If they want to make a centralized crapcoin let them.

hmmm, I'm always welcome to competition, but it seems more like they are positioning themselves as an intermediate for the Cryptocurrencies... hmmm, They're probably just trying to get a share of the payments business by incorporating it into ubiquitous devices/platforms like cell phones, browsers, merchants, etc this would explain why apple is shutting down all Bitcoin apps... they may have known what JPM was up too a long time ago.

So is this basically another crypto-currency w/ the same accounting capabilities as bitcoin, except centralized by the bank?
+1 If people are smart, they should not support such a thing. Banks cause the 2007-2009 financial crisis. Banks got big 800 billion plus bail out from U.S government courtesy of American Taxpayers money Banks can't be trusted (moral hazard) Damn, if I would let a bank manage a crypto currency.

Banks got big 800 billion plus bail out from U.S government courtesy of American Taxpayers money Banks can't be trusted (moral hazard) Damn, if I would let a bank manage a crypto currency. Hi, if what you - and most of the people in this troll thread - are saying made any sense at all, people would have "willfully not supported" chase and closed them down years ago. chase already has quickpay. chase already offers wires - now they can do their own secure wiring and transfering. it isn't "lol a new coin how do i mine it," its the beginning of b2b massive institutions taking over. People don't exactly have much of a choice, and further, this will look like a great new feature to those who don't give a shit at all, and use chase. just like quickpay was. but yes, rabble rabble "chase isn't a worldwide presence (LOL? rockefeller, rothschild, morgan family isn't a worldwide presence? OOOK)" and "chase doesn't even matter." Sure, lets not compare the hundreds of millions of investors and users of jpmchase with the maybe tens/hundreds of thousands btc users err, i mean speculators? The most important part of this is not if it is provable that bitcoin came first, its "hey, where's the process or utility patent for bitcoin?" Oh, I guess that's the 'beauty' of no owner or no claim to this huh? How about people read a real website instead of foxnews (republican bullshit site) http://www.businessinsider.com/debunking-jp-morgan-bitcoin-2013-12This patent has almost zero similarity to bitcoin. they want to turn http://static5.businessinsider.com/image/52a78803eab8ea2b3bab727f-833-661/jpm%20digital%202.png into http://static1.businessinsider.com/image/52a787c4eab8ea5331ab7283-807-627/jpm%20digital%203.pngTLDR: don't click 'foxnews' websites and spread their garbage around.
