While mining I sometimes get messages saying something like "Rejected X Diff Y/Y GPU 0 (Job 'Z' not found)".
1. What does it mean?
2. Is this something I need to worry about?

I am pool mining with cgminer (scrypt).

Thanks in advance!

If you get those messages sometimes then its just few rejected shares which is common in mining.
If you see it continuously then your pool might be down.

I think rejects above ~2-3% show that the pool you are using is currently under heavy load.

I also saw that the hashrate just decreased significantly when the pool was having technical probs.

I always thought the rejected shares are GPU hardware errors instead
