So if my monitor's refresh rate is at 60 hz I would just need to set a flag to
-f 60 to cap my framerate a 60 fps?
I'm wondering because I just added that flag and mining only dropped 10-20 Mhash/s. Seems like a very minimal impact on mining!

Theoretically yes, but it would assume your game can complete its rendering tasks within the time. So I'd think a slightly higher cap would probably be better at ensuring you will get a steady 60fps. As usual, the best way to find out is to test different settings and share the discovery with us
