There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Actually for both money and because of its ideology.
Bitcoin supports decentralization (till now atleast). It can turn out to be a revolutionary tool if in good hands.

I'm in it right now for both!  As everyone else has said, i've invested early as I believe there is a long and strong future for BTC, so i'm giong to try and make as much as I can.  As for culture, I think cryptocurrencies are the future of payments, and would love to see this continue to grow
