To further distinguish the projects it was desided to rename the project CRowdCLassic. Here`s the announcement: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5079710Hello again. Sorry for the delay but a lot happened the last few days.
So brace yourselves, crowders here and there. An announcement is coming in several hours. Stay tuned.* The idea is to implement POS at some point following the best practices, to complete and secure the ecosystem.
** There is a 200 000 premine left in the original blockchain but it cannot be accessed until next year. The matter will be investigated further.

b]The fork is coming...[/b] The fork is here..Enough is enough. After continuously watching the slow degradation of the original Crowdcoin project for the past few months(not to mention the price), a decision was made to support the current blockchain and Neoscrypt algo. To do so a fork has to be done. Looks like the fork already happened because the old CRC network stopped working. An attempt to restart the network was made but it`s look like there are some errors in the source code forked from the original CRC project preventing the wallet to work correctly. It will need some investigation so until further notice we will move according to the roadmap.
Quick roadmap:
1. Manifesto is in the making.
2. Almost nothing has to be changed at first - nor code, nor pools settings:
- a new wallets has to be compiled with a few things replaced.;
- putting some nodes online to support the blockchain (or using pools if any);
- (eventually) a manual with explanation how to mine to a wallet - local or remote.
3. An explorer has to be started using some scripts available.
4. Whitepaper to explain the project deeper. And Yellowpaper after that, filled with technical stuff to explain it further.
5. Complete the assessment of the project.
6. Moving to POW/POS/MN code.
7. MVP: A portal for learning and crowdfunding (the original project idea), created using some particular social software available right now. Implementing gamification instead of airdrops and using CRCL as an utility coin only.
- There will be no real coins kept on the site, an quantities only. They will be stored in account(s) on an exchange.
- KYC through third-party company.
- Mobile apps.
8. Complete code audit by a third-party company.
9. Go to the Moon.
The project will be community driven for real and supported by donations at first (an address will be generated to donate directly or by pointing a miner) then with small dev fee in every block generated.
How to participate:
https://discord.gg/pyCqbpBhttps://github.com/CRowdcoinCLassicThe manifesto will come to light soon to explain the intentions further.
It will be an anonymous effort until the support for this project get stronger. Join The Crypto Future.P.S. It may smell fishy right now but it will get better in time, this is a promise. And you know to always DYOR, right.
P.P.S.
The original Crowdcoin (CRC) project is moving to another algo and is in a swap till next Friday. There are no need for new nodes right now. This is the same old blockchain of Crowdcoin you will be mining to. So the this project wallets will work but in the original blockchain till the end of the swap.
And only after that this coin will become CRowdcoinCLassic (CRCL) just staying in the same blockchain. So the original project will kinda fork from itself to the new algo they choose. And there will be need for nodes and miners to support the network after that because otherwise the network will stuck.
Really sorry for the confusion! It is look like they switched to the new blockchain already.
EDIT:. As at
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5068426.msg48250965#msg48250965Hello there.
OK, lets face it. There is/was a massive bug hidden into the code of many coins including before-mentioned one, allowing someone with enough skills to create "false" coins. Everybody who is really into the crypto realm knows that. But bugs will be found and they will be fixed, eventually.
Just like this:
https://github.com/litecoin-project/litecoin/pull/536/commits/696b936aa3ab6f459d0e16f9805eaeb747a0036cBut it is and will always be about trust. And swift and meaningful response. And technology. And moving forward in right direction. Not only about some bumps in the road ahead and losing some value. Because this is a very volatile and risky business, you know. And DYOR, right.
But this project is here to be a longterm opportunity to do something meaningful with that given technology. And because the trust is very hard to gain back. This is all it can and will be said on the subject of trying to scare the people away from this project.
The deeds WILL speak for themselves.
About the mining:
The network was adopted from the Crowdcoin project as they moved to another algo last week, yes. And has all the properties of it. And the pros and cons.
So all the old software(wallets) from the that project is still working and everybody who possesses it, can do everything in the network - make addresses, send and receive coins, mine coins. Even without a pool I suppose, just mining to the wallet.
The link to the pool is here too, few posts before this one..
The source code had some massive issues, preventing successful compiling. And there were no compiled ones left. But the wallets and other software from the old project was found and will be published now for you to use them on your own responsibility and backwards compatibility.
Double spending bug and DoS issues are still there! As in many coin sources still in the wild.
The new compiled wallet is in testing as we "speak" so the source of it will be published for the geeks who`re eager to have it. And to make some profit eventually.
And please just don`t forget that`s there is a reason that it is called PRE-ANN. It is just announcement for intentions, not more at this point. So this software is highly experimental. But with the great risk sometimes comes even grater gain.
There`s some small hash power pointed to this pool just to keep the blockchain moving for testing purposes. But not all of it. It looks like sb pointed some spare power just in case this project make it to some exchange in the future.
And just to clarify: the address used to move the blockchain forward will be made known to the public and will be used for donations.
