Anybody using EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 FTW2 GAMING GPUs for ETH?  I'm currently running Phoenix miner with a pair of 1070s, which are profitable even with my Californicated energy rates.  I'm thinking of adding a pair of these since price is reasonable.  What's been your experience, hash rate, power consumption, pros and cons?  Thanks.

The 1080 and its different memory structure from the 1070 makes this not a great idea. The 1070 and 1080 hash pretty close to the same on ETH, but the 1080 is clearly better for equihash.

If you feel the need to mine ETH on NVIDIA cards, the 1070 or Ti would be the way to go.

I have a water cooled EVGA Hybrid 1080 so this is speaking from experience.

Stop buying industrial miners, running them at home, and then complaining about the noise.

With the Ethpill 1080's do ~15-20% better than a 1070 on Ethash. What I don't like about 1080's is they run hot, so it's a good idea to get a 1080 with good cooling.

actually this is good idea, after the special tool which boost eth performance for nvidia gtx1080 and gtx1080ti, these cards are pretty normal in mining eth, so you may use them. but note that etherium is gonna end pow and go to the pos in 2018, so count it

Which would you choose, 1070ti or 1080?

As stated above, you could use the "EthPill" just released, but honestly rather than mining ETH with GDDR5X, just buy a 1070 TI because it is newer and will get you better hashrates at a better efficiency stock. Although the EVGA FTW 2 1080 can handle +600 core and +1000 mem. I have owned both models with the fan and the Hybrid.
