Hey fellow newbies,

Just in case you start investing in bitcoins I wanted to let you know the process of getting funds with OKPAY.com via Bank transfer

First of you will need to have a verified account which means you need to upload a picture of your passport and a picture of a recent bill (phone bill /esb bill) with your name on it

I used my phone and an app call CamScanner to make it look like a proper scan.

The verification process takes about 3 to 4 business days at the moment since they seem to be pretty busy.

After that you can deposit funds via bank transfer which can take much longer (mine took 7 business days !)

In terms of support expect very little as in my experience they removed my forum posts asking for updates (3 times) and they don't answer the phone if you call their support number.

However I did receive my funds eventually...

hope this helps !

Thank you for your report, seems like id verification and a lot of time is necessary to get Bitcoins. I guess you used OKPAY to fund Btc-e account, right?

I've had better luck with localbitcoins to BTC-e.....

How much are you all depositing with BTC-e? I gave up as OKPay seemed cumbersome.

BTC-e and Okpay are getting very bad reviews lately due to selective scamming.
Looks like OP was lucky.

Selective scamming is weird. I believe Okpay must have licence for card transactions, so it should not be hard to close Okpay if some people are scammed

Yes, that's why I was asking how much they deposited. I wouldn't deposit over a couple of thousand USD......

In fairness I did receive my money within a reasonable enough time frame however I did add extra pressure by finding out who the CEO was and contacting him directly via his personal e-mail so that might have helped..
