You can run 6 on windows 7.
Why bother with windows 8?

Am not keen about the touch screen. I just need something that works. If i knew win 7 can support 6 gpu's, i wont be here asking.

any works, and heres a great tip, just do the basic install and do NOT install any of the updates. Works 100% and installs in about 20 mins. Versus hours and about 20 reboots for various useless updates that you do not need to mine. Make sure you have cgminer (or whatever, I find 3.4 the most stable) and some other drivers on (ie netframework for cgwatcher, amd sdk is sometimes needed and its huge, amd vid card drivers, I use one of the older ones as its way more stable) a flash drive so save downloading them, makes for a faster install.

You should turn stuff off like auto updates (you will wake up with a non mining rig because windows updated over night). Bunch of other annoying stuff that interferes with mining that I also turn off
