I wish I could post this in the Mining section but because of the restrictions I need to post it here.

Here is what I believe 99% of people interested in mining want to know and nobody seems to talk about:

- Where can I find hardware now at a reasonable price or how can I build a mining rig?

Assumptions:

- In order to profit you should not expend more than $5/GH.
- In order to profit, you need to buy and receive hardware now, not 3 months from now when mining difficulty would have increased many fold.

Look at the 2 charts below. The first it shows your profit if you could start mining with a TerraMiner 2TH/s now. The 2nd shows the profit if you start mining in 02-14, when they promise delivery:

Starting to mine today with a 2TH/s Terraminer ($6000) - your profit will around $50,000!!!!! before the miner returns less than $1/month

Starting to mine today on 2-14 with a 2TH/s Terraminer ($6000) - your profit will be around $5,750 before the miner returns less than $1/month
http://mining.thegenesisblock.com/a/9270e0bb99

- I assume bitcoin price will remain the same. This is a big assumption, but it is needed so you can just focus on the mining difficulty
- For simplicity, I kept electricity and power costs at $0. A lot of people don't pay for electricity.

When you look at the profit difference, makes you wonder why it is so hard to find mining hardware now. Yeah, yeah. Demand. Sure. But why is it that there is no info on how to build one? Can't someone just buy ASIC chips and build one? Who makes ASIC chips? This should be easy to find out.

It feels like ASIC chips are a precious metal like gold. Or people just don't want to talk about it. Who makes them? Where can they be ordered? I assume it is somewhat easy to build a miner if you can get a hold of chips at a normal price. But nobody talks about how to get chips.

The bottom like. My goals for this thread are:

- Help people who want to mine find hardware now at a price of no more than $5/GH.
- If no hardware is available, help people find ASIC chips and give them instructions on how to build one

If anyone has any info, please let me know.

Electricity is a big part for regular people with PG&E here in California and their evil Tiers.  But yeah, I'd like to know more too.
