ideas...for what they are worth :p

- This coin has something in common with doge - a lot of publicity outside the regular crypto channels.  Like doge this will attract a lot of new people to find out what the fuss is about so make your coin as noob friendly as possible.  Including the conf file with the wallet was a great idea, but maybe also include a readme on where to put it and maybe some basic (ie for people who know nothing about mining/crypto) instructions on how to start mining it etc.

- still along the noob theme.. a lot of these new people wont have any specialist mining setups so are going to struggle to actually get any of your coin.  you want them involved and bought in as they will probably be the core of your community after all the speculators have pumped and dumped. The reality is these people arent going to invest in mining hardware unless they can see a reason to. So maybe start an official pool, use the pool fees and part of the premine to subsidise these low hash people so they actually get a  bit of coin to play with and see how the whole crypto thing works, I dont know if you could script it, but once a day review the people in the pool who had a hash rate of say less than 75khs for example and send their wallets the same amount they mined for the day, at that hashrate they arent making crazy money thats impossible to match from pool fees but what you are doing is creating a point of difference - no one else looks out for the little guys just starting out and you are giving them a reason to use and promote your coin because they actually have some.  Obviously you cant do that forever but you wont need to once new people can see a benefit to them in having better equipment they'll buy it, but noone is buying $500 video cards for a quick experiment to see if something works.

- approach a decent exchange and work to get the coin listed.  you dont have to pay anyone - moon turning up on coinex 12 hrs or so after launch proved that exchange owners can make good money off of a well publicised coin - and thats what you have.  when you look at who to approach dont just think big and famous look for user friendly and helpful - after all this is where all your noobs are going to learn why they should be using your coin the easier you can make that process of all the new people you are bringing in learning how to get and use your coin the more likely they are to stick around and keep your coin alive.

-talk to a payment processor that is willing to deal with altcoins, one example is https://www.coinpayments.net/, their stores accept some or all of the alt currencies they allow, once you have a payment processor its a lot easier to sell businesses on using your coin.

hope it helps and good luck Smiley

Thanks for the replies. I've barely left my place all week and I need to do a few things, but after this list builds up I'll come back and reply to everything.

nice launch so far. great work! my opinion:

1. dont listen to most ppl here, they just wait for pump and dump.

2. dont rush for exchange, the moment it hit exchange, the moment it dies. 12 hour retarget, that means if difficulty drops, multipool will keep dumping for 12 hours, there will not have such demand to absorb the supply.

3. dont give away to ppl in this forum, give away to ppl in twitter, facebook. ppl in this forum does not need more coinye, too easy to mine.

4. give 50mm to someone who build a decent gambling site. 10Ghs in the first 24 hours is good. There are lots of coins in a well distributed wallets. nobody has any practical use of them except dreaming to be a millionaire, including me. You need a big pool, for ppl to park their coinyes there, like gambling, like porn, drug dealing, money laundry, whatever. so new ppl buy coinye to goto those sites, and ppl with coinye rather to park coin there than rush to exit. actually, when you do give away, give away to muggles to try out those sites. So they will goto exchange to buy more.

5. where is your wallet download link, with nodes? not in your main post, not in your own website. no wallet, no new faces.

if you like my idea, 5jSdTJ3CvJQYRdPNg2PJzg3sAKhCzD4Kyk

Make a web site, where you can sell things for bid/buy with coinye wests. I had in mind game codes or guides or things like this. I would sell my Humble-bundle with 10 games, worth 100$, which I bought for 5, for example. You definitely want to focus on something online, this is on a global scale. Maybe funny song (now days anything get views - fox song or whats that shit called).

Hope i helped,

make giveaways on twitter and facebook maybe. you should think of offering bounties for key services, like for gambling sites, exchanges and other services that raise the utility of coinye.

also offer bounties for promotional activities! i wish i could do a few giveaways in my communities but i somehow chose the wrong pool for the launch of coinye -.-

also a general update and a forum for your website would be awesome!

Lets make Coinye a currency that stays for the long run, we have to use the initial hype!

there's already enough hype.

Making your own exchange would be nice. Preferably trading directly to USD. Im sure many ppl would buy as its a hot topic on ebay.

Above friends say some basic conventional promotion methods, for me, I do not think that all the above ideas as to allow coinye west on his next concert or CD to do publicity, you know, the power of the fans is endless! Smiley

Do you think so?  5TjqjeeFwTxtx1kYRg7MnJHcyv6coyq8H8

Thank you !
