official pool (https://pool.geekcash.org) not paying out for past 5 hours?  or is the block explorer not working?  please fix.

edit:  appears to be the explorer.  launched geekcashd and see better numbers there.

After I found first block here new jobs stopped, miners just do nothing. Lucky that I noticed, otherwise I would have spent time. So I thought it's likely unstable and reverted to official pool.

I'm pretty happy with this so far:

- Geekcash Pool is working well and paying out correctly.
- Richlist is starting to get more evenly distributed.
- Explorer working fine.
- No sign or evidence of anything sketchy from the Devs. Premine is reasonable and transparent.
- Wallet is nice and clean.
- Nice website, nice logo.
- Algo seems resistant to ASIC and Nicehash.
- You can mine with a desktop CPU. Nobody is dominating the mining with massive hash.
- I've mined ~10,000 (which will eventually be a masternode) with a Ryzen 1700 in about 24 hours.
- If you leave a few cores spare (--threads = x) you can also mine a GPU coin at the same time as GEEK with no penalty (I'm mining ELLA on my GPU at the same time as GEEK on my CPU)

If the Dev's can productize the use cases for the coin beyond just the social media initiative then this could be a winner.

New pool

Ports:

CPU:        3561

Is this means that we could mine using CPU?
Can we still utilize our PC while the CPU mining performed?

Yep. it's CPU mining only.

You will need their CPU Miner for the unique algorithm.

Add --threads=x for however many threads to use (for example --threads=2 will mine on 2 threads , so if you have quad core CPU you can still use the PC for other things like browsing...)

what about total supply?
Supply After 2036+: ~3,6B GEEK

I think this project has potential because of unique algo and fair mining Smiley

yes,you are right

Once block 180k passes, which at this rate might be about 12-16 weeks (maybe more, maybe less, just a rough guess based on progress so far)

Until then, masternodes can be set up, but don't get rewards, so you will see them SYNC, but don't need to fear that you are losing out.

This delay in Masternode enablement is not a bad idea, as it helps decentralization of the coin, and lets a lot of people have the opportunity for a node (you could mine a node with a Celeron right now in about 4 weeks. With a good PC it takes less than a week)

It also avoids the possibility that the Devs will sell nodes in the future and then run with the money, as just a small amount of mining will get you a node on your own, without spending money.

I kinda feel that if you're mining another coin on GPU, you may as well set a few cores to CPU mine Geek at the same time.

Thanks for your comments, you are very delicate.

This issue was fixed last night. It may be a few more times before we fix it thoroughly. But do not worry, your data is still preserved.

GeekCash is a new digital currency, based on Bitcoin and Dash, that enables anonymous, instant payments to anyone, anywhere in the world. GeekCash uses peer-to-peer technology to operate with no central authority: managing transactions and issuing money are carried out collectively by the network. Exactly, GeekCash is a community governance, cooperation and growth to decentralized economy.

Geek is born not to compete feature compared to other coins in the market. It focuses on the ecosystem (under construction) for content creators, sharing passion, affiliate marketing, MMO... or using the Internet to sell or distribute their creations to their fans.

With solid foundations prepared beforehand, GeekCash have ambitious plans for the future.

I was said that this project will be focused on content creator, sharing passion, affiliate marketing, MMO etc.
Do you happened to have the detailed info about those parts?
I would be happy to learn more about it.
