Hello and welcome! I suggest you read http://free-btc.net.tf/#!/whats_btc and https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=177133.0, I think it would be kinda what you were looking for.
Also, beware that there are many scammers out there so you should be careful where you send your bitcoins. And don't use online wallets since they might get "hacked", you should instead host your own client like Bitcoin-Qt or Multibit.

I really quick way for me was chatting on coinchat, it was fun and you could learn quite a lot in a short period of time.
Coinchat is dead IMO now, TF (the owner) scamming and running away.

I suggest you browse though topics of this forum, and it a question pops in your mind, don't be shy to post it here; it'll get answered usually within a few minutes.

Perhaps also skim though the official bitcoin website http://bitcoin.org/

The best and quickest way to learn about BTC is to buy it, and lose it all right away....or is that the hard way to learn..
