took me a LONG time and lots of frustration to figure out why I could not post my very FIRST EVER Post here,

AS I kept getting error messages something like "Your IP has ALREADY posted, please wait 360 seconds ((6 minutes))  and try again"!!!!!!!!!

evidently this forum system records most EVERY CLICK of ANY KIND as a "post".

so type up your message and leave it ready to send/post for seven minutes, THEN post it.

crazy hassle,  but even crazier that the forum seems to keep this CRITICAL info SECRET and FALSELY Labeled.

Now I know what to do if I encounter the same error messages. Thanks!

I think the newbie restriction was a bit harsh in the beginning.

However, after a while, they mostly go away.

(I say "mostly" because the 6 minute restriction gets significantly smaller)

This is to prevent people from scamming and trashing the forum.

not sure if the newbie restrictions are worse then I understand them to be.  So many complaints have come to my attention recently about the ip error msg leads me to wonder if they are having problems I didn't or just don't recall.

Once you get rid of your newbie status it drops to like 60 seconds, or something really short like that.
Or you could just change your IP after every post..

You could always use tor. It will change your ip in less that 10 sconds.
But there are problems with tor since lots of the those ips are banned in this forum because of people abusing it.

Mine is less than 30 seconds now. It decreases with more activity.

And TOR is probably worse and more annoying since you have to re-log in every-time you get a banned connection.

It's not every click but logins and attempted posts count. It is annoying at the start but it soon lessens with activity.

it's very annoying as you start posting but later when your activity reaches 20 or around that area the time between posts decrease gradually as your activity increases.
Also Login and search count as a post.
