Hey all, my first post and already a problem.
Just got into cryptocurrency this week and was able to buy a bitcoin and put it onto BTER.com.
I made a username account and set my password. The site also had me make a funds password which I made the same as my account password.
When I tried to access my funds to deposit them in my wallet, I couldn't. My funds password was rejected (maybe because it matched my login password?). So I tried to reset the password through their form.
The problems compound now because apparently their SMTP server doesn't like my email address. My email address is on the 0.pn domain, which is weird I admit. So, I can't receive "reset password" emails. I made a second account from gmail.com and when I filled out the reset password form, voila, the reset email appeared for that account! So this means that the support team probably isn't getting my emails either
Lessons learned:
1. BTER is still in its infancy, be careful. Seems like a legit site but they are obviously still working out the kinks.
2. Don't ever match your funds password to your account password. Something weird might happen.
3. Use email addresses from normal domains.
I'd appreciate and advice or feedback. In the meantime I will pull all of my hair out
