New Cryptocurrency HayekCoin created not to be alternative to bitcoin but a novelty coin to honor F.A. Hayek who wrote about free markets in currency way before Bitcoin had a chance to exist. Mine your hayek coin today by downloading the client at https://alexmerced.squarespace.com/hayekcoin-client/. Let's see how quick somebody makes Mises Coin and Rothbard Coin, the latter I'm sure would be a big hit in NH

Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

Many of us don't have mining equipment so are there any giveaways for this one so we can help promote the coin for a little bit of incentive? I wish I could mine but cannot as yet afford any mining hardware so trying to etch some coin for a living to save up to buy equipment.

of blocks mined so far, only 50 of those blocks are me from when I tested the client last night many already started mining when I announced it on the cryptocurrency facebook group an hour or so before I announced it on here.
Again I'll pay $1 for every 10,000 coins or give you a duck tape wallet for 30,000 coins

from the website. (copy-paste) https://github.com/alexmerced/hcoinHayekCoin (HKC) - a another version version of SmallChange (a Litecoin Fork) which also uses scrypt as a proof of work scheme and is intended for microtransactions.
2 min block targets: beat that MinCoin! 853 006 308 total coins 100 Coins per block, subsidy havles every 420,000 blocks difficulty retargets every day currently peers are looked up over IRC only currently no block checkpoints are in the code (but could be easily added) Other than that, this coin is exactly like Litecoin and should by no means be used as a real cryptocurrency. All of the coin parameters are chosen arbitrarily or at most with 'fairness' towards everyone in mind.
So actually, this 'new' coin exists for the following reasons:
HKC proves that really anyone(!) can start a Litecoin/Bitcoin based currency (just look at the changes I applied to the original Litecoin source, for genesis block generation look at main.cpp) allows me to experiment with coin parameters (in a private network) Finally, I only tested the command line server/tool 'smallchange' for the first 30 blocks. Credits go to the original authors/communities that created Bitcoin and Litecoin

AlexMerced Thanks for the code, it's helping me to understand the changes you have made. Can i ask you why everyone creating a scrypt coin is using the same commit date from the litecoin source. Thanks

This would give 84mio. coins in total, not 853mio.? 420 000 x 100 = 42mio. times 2 is 84mio. I like Hayek, but I don't like the coin, sorry
