I think we are done with that kind of advertisement already. I might be wrong but i can't think of something more flaky than a guy waving a bitcoin flag in the south pole It's the kind of "happenings" that a multinational also does for marketing (if you replace 'Bitcoin' with 'Google' or 'Red Bull' it'd still make sense). Paypal also did quite a lot of strange marketing actions. And this is not faux-pas like killing an elephant in Africa like the Godaddy guys As always it appeals to certain groups and doesn't appeal to others. But it always brings attention.

Bitcoin Core developer [PGP] Warning: For most, coin loss is a larger risk than coin theft. A disk can die any time. Regularly back up your wallet through File → Backup Wallet to an external storage or the (encrypted!) cloud. Use a separate offline wallet for storing larger amounts.

Too bad. He didn't got any donations after he got to the South Pole. His QR code isn't recognizable in the image either.

So he actually did it! Way to go! Not quite, apparently: Boy, am I confused. At first I didn't think he made it, then I saw the planted flag, then I stood corrected. Either way, it's the first Bitcoin flag to grace the mighty continent of Antarctica.

Do you really need bitcoin at south pole or a space station? yes we need bitcoin at south pole we need bitcoin in space we need bitcoin EVERYWHERE! The problem with space is that a heavy delay occurs (depending on where, but from Mars for example there is a 6-45 minute delay).

Remember when people use to go to new places (moon, Antarctica, wherever) and plant national flags? I see waving a global currency symbol around as a slightly more optimistic sign for mankind. One world guys.

Do you know that humanity has satellites in space? Yes but internet comes from Wi-Fi that its on the air, that sucker companies makes you pay for something that is in the air! I'm sure that he went with one of those wifi antennas with free internet. That is.
