I'm hijacking the top thread just give my 2 cents. I became a dev of Quark two weeks ago because I wanted to help turn that ship around. A lot of honest people put their money into Quark at Bill Still's direction and I thought that it could be saved.

I pushed for an audit of the blockchain (http://forum.qrk.cc/thread/368/auditing-block-chain), and what we've found (http://forum.qrk.cc/thread/568/quark-faqs-compiling-fact-sheet) is incredibly disheartening. We lost a very dedicated member, who also happens to be a professional Forex investment manager, because he became convinced, like I have, that, not only are the fundamentals flawed, but the development, or lack thereof, of the project has been carried out in a very, very shady way.

I went to bat for the Quark project not because I believed that what Kolin was saying was true, but because I was willing to give the project the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately, all of the quantifiable metrics have proven it to be just as it is. And it saddens me to say that, but it also bolsters my resolve because the community came together to, a) fix what could be fixed, b) prove what should be proved regardless of project allegiance.

Unfortunately, there is no 'fixing' the Quark project. Both Kolin and Max have disappeared again.

I want to point out that there's no problem with having alternate cryptocurrencies. If anything, the crypto-development community must mirror the Linux development community; forks and small projects experiment with features that the mainstays (in this case, Bitcoin) can't because of their industrial adoption. Cryptos are a good thing; scams and pump-and-dumps are not.

edit: I'm willing to talk more in depth to people about these issues should they want.

edit edit: I also want to say that the community came together in an astounding way to kickstart development, only to be, if not in word than in action, rebuffed by kolin and Max. The folks over at the quark forum have dedicated an inordinate amount of time on a volunteer basis doing what should otherwise be paid development (in PR/Branding/Graphics/Bug fixing) and it's an absolute shame that none of the 'large holders' of quark came out of the woodwork to support them. That says something.

Should you sell the quark you own? Whats going on? Price just halved from a few hours ago.

Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless — like water. Now you put water in a cup, it becomes the cup; You put water into a bottle it becomes the bottle; You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.

What is wrong with you fucking losers?

Creating elaborate lies just so you can buy more cheaply?

Either that or the quark devs (Max) are pretending its all a lie.

Can't tell who the bigger fucking liar is ...

Nice situation idiots ...

Do none of you have mommies that taught you right and wrong?

Slobs.

All I see is a coin war going on, somebody is willing to spend BTC to run this coin into the dirt while somebody is willing to spend it to prop it up, what would be interesting to see is some well known figures in the BTC community that have no stake in alt's come out and give the Alt investing folks a rundown about the security of the network compared to others with an unbiased objective approach, we have not seen this yet, I do see people attack it and they may have a good position to do so, but, they do it with unfounded allegations (or buried in the past reason's) and i see supporter's that cannot put in layman's term's the benefit this particular coin has compared to others, the random hashing of multiple types of encryption make it appear as a good solid possible (as alt's go), if the above thread makes any sense lay it out for me, i hold about 550 QRK, wow right? if you followed this alt then you know as well as me that several people holding other alt's are dead set against it, makes alot of sense to paint a bright target against your competitor, WARNING!!!! Your trading action playing with this supposedly unregulated currency may bring civil and/or criminal charges! (just saying) any and all exchanges are subject to any/all International law and any court that wishes to subpoena server information may do so if a court action is triggered by any person within its jurisdiction (just saying), as banks and governments put out warnings across the globe about crypto currency they gather information about the players, traders, distributors, and developers, if you own any alt coins - that information is stored somewhere, if you have used your holdings to manipulate a pump and dump in an unethical way then you might be in the same class as DPR, a class that is split into 2 category's: 1. Ignorant to the real possibilty's 2. so far gone they do not care.
With all that said, I still think QRK is a good coin, I happen to like its random multi hashing and I hope my 550 coins will be worth something someday (looking off into the distance).

Send me a message if you need me to respond to a post, or just send me some  $ADA in an amount that will get my attention = addr1qx7g7vzjtk9mcljxjy0vnewaljk33m67d227d95rsak8mmjdq5erwjygc05l6vftwdzy9qd3t4 9spl5kw5k6684gfawqw9r87w

After reading some of the content, it's clear to me that the dev's involved (who actually wrote the content that scarface dropped here) all had good intentions and serious concerns about the distribution of Quark.

As for scarface it's hard to say, all his previous posts have been about Doge.

Back to the quark issues it appears possible that around 30% of the quark is held in only 30 wallets, some people see this as a major problem.

Personally I don't care and am quite happy to hold my quark, looks like the price is well on the way to recovering anyway.

The one thing I hope people learn from this thread is not to panic sell Undecided.

Right and wrong is all in the eyes of the beholder.
If I had a significant chunk of my savings in quark I might try to bail water out of this sinking ship as well.
I have no doubt it will continue for some time (because people are stupid).

Hi

I pushed for an audit of the blockchain (http://forum.qrk.cc/thread/368/auditing-block-chain), and what we've found (http://forum.qrk.cc/thread/568/quark-faqs-compiling-fact-sheet) is incredibly disheartening.

The fact is the distribution of Quark similar to Litecoin, Namecoin and Peercoin:

http://forum.qrk.cc/thread/681/top-100-wallet-concentration

Unfortunately, there is no 'fixing' the Quark project. Both Kolin and Max have disappeared again.

Kolin is a Quark supporter.

I have not disappeared (except when I sleep). I am active on this and the Quark forum.

edit edit: I also want to say that the community came together in an astounding way to kickstart development, only to be, if not in word than in action, rebuffed by kolin and Max.

No help has ever been denied by me. entropyofdays has not submitted any improvement to the core Quark code.
