I own a dedicated server hosting company and thought I may be able to make some extra profit using one of my unused servers.
What would be most profitable for an E3-1270v2 server to mine? And what about i7-2600?
Do you recommend a mining pool? If so, which one?

Please include statistics to back up your statement if possible! Thanks.

The network tries to produce one block per 10 minutes. It does this by automatically adjusting how difficult it is to produce blocks.

Hi, CPU mining is not profitable, hash rate/W is really low comparing to GPU / ASIC. You can check it here: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mining_hardware_comparison#Intel

There are some CPU-only coins that you may want to check out, Primecoin is the largest of them.

It's not profitable for Bitcoin, but it is profitable for many altcoins.

This I was worry as well, but now I just mine only when the coin is profitable and converting to Bitcoin. So this is not issue if you dont hold the mined coins
