cgminer with mixed graphics cards?

Hello, I am trying to get this to work but I am not seeing any information on google or a few threads that is helpful; I have just installed, along with my R9 280x, a HD 5970 graphics card. I am only getting one card showing up, GPU 0:. How can I set the settings to make it find the other one? How can I set different settings, but mine the same pool, with both? Thanks!

What drivers?  What OS?

I think you might struggle to get a legacy card like a HD5xxx working with a new R9.

If youre using windows, try using GPU-Z, this utility will tell you if the 2nd card is seen by the MOBO.

1st place id start.

Thanks, maybe I will try to get it to work with 2x 7950s instead. I am using drivers

I will mess around with them and see if I can get it to show in gpu-z, if not I will just try with some older cards.

I've got both cards properly detected in GPU-Z, but I am not able to run cgminer at all now. I don't understand the readme at all, how do I configure it to "look" for two graphics cards? Is there a good tutorial at anywhere on how to use this? Google lead me to find this command which gave the info, referring to -ndevs

So, I have only one 5900 in there, seems like its detecting two (as well as GPU-z?). How do I set this up, so I can choose settings for each card i ndividually? I assume its not optimal to use

-I 13 -g 2 -w 256 --lookup-gap 2 --thread-concurrency 8192 --gpu-engine 1000 --gpu-memclock 1500 --temp-target 70 --auto-fan --gpu-powertune 20

for both of these cards? I tried to run this and I got instant artifacts and had to manually power down. Help is appreciated : )

I used to have issues when i tried using cgminer on its own but since ive moved to guiminer-scrypt, which used cgminer in the background ive never had an issue, I could never understand why this was the case but hey! if its not broke, dont fix it.

If you try downloading guiminer-script you should find it much easier.
