Hi there,

Shocked it seems there is not a lot going on about p2pool in the newbies section Shocked

but since this forum's policy forces me in this board Roll Eyes,
I'll just start and post as if was posting to [8Gh/s] p2pool ...

When I started contributing the hash rate was around 3.5+ GH/s.
If I did the calculation right ...  that woud result in about one hit every month
or so, at the current difficulty level. Fair enough.

Hash rate is now down to 0.8 GH/s  Sad ...
Did i miss something?

@forrestv
Great Work!
Imaho: A decentralized minig pool is the only way to mine.

I am using the most recent P2Pool and CgMiner, running a somewhat
outdated nvidia 9800 GTX card  Smiley

There seem to be some problems.
I get a crash about every 24 h. That crash seems to also kill the BitCoin
program. There might be a connection with my computer getting an new
IP as my ISP dis- and re- connects me.

If I stop and restart P2Pool it seems to have forgotten about all my aquired
shares. Counting shares starts at 0 again.
But then again, the estimated payout stays the same, so I think that might
be OK.

And than, there is that matter with the stale rate. I get about 30 to 50 %.
Well now it's at nearly 100%. That does not produce a warm fuzzy feeling.
I'll restart the miner and give it a new user name, maybe that will help.

@Newbies moderators
Maybe there is a way to foreward this to the p2pool board?

Thanks.

Sorry for missing this ... The "newbie" handling of the forums is really annoying.

What kind of crash were you getting? There's been lots of development work on p2pool since then. Also, there were several deadlocks in the Bitcoin client that have been fixed in Git and should be released soon.

Shares are only counted in the current time that you're running P2Pool. Also, the pool has been higher than 10GH/s for the last week. What miner were you using? People have gotten the lowest stale results with the modified DiabloMiner on the p2pool thread, so that might be helpful to try.

why do you use a p2pool? go to minco.in to , if you don't want to pay pool fees and it is splitting the fees they earn.
