Quark was premined and developers have a lot of QRK's to promote knowledge, run give-away campaigns, buy design and help from other developers, and so on..
This also involves the risk that a lot of coins can be dumped in the market, when the coin value increase. Lots of investors are concerned about this, and there's less likely that the coin will go "to the moon" in the near future.

This means that no one really has an awful lot of coins, and if they have they have probably worked hard to get them or bought them for real life values -> If you dump your coins, I will be there to buy as they are guaranteed rare! If this coin starts increasing in value, it might as well continue..
