I like your explanation, I will add that with long term investing is also good to check the project regularly, every 3-6 weeks. and reconsider if action is needed. Circumstances are changing and the promising projects are not promising at one point, or the price is pumped too much and it is better to sell. Just check it from time to tie like the short term holdings and think what is bet to do.
