Can't insert avatar

I can't seem to insert an avatar. I'm trying to insert one with an URL, but when I press 'change profile' the text field is just empty again.
Is it because I don't have enough posts yet, or something else?

Avatars were disabled. There are several threads about this issue in meta: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=24.0

Please use the search function , just type avatar.
There are more than 20 threads of this. Avatars were disabled for new members.
And , nobody knows when they will be available again.

Ah okay, thanks. I see I was far too lazy searching. So it's disabled for security reasons. Too bad, it would be a nice personal touch to the accounts.
