Hi,
Pretty new with regards to cryptocurrencies. Over the last two or three days I've...
- Installed a bunch of different wallets
- Did a little mining for some low end currencies
- Created an account on Cryptsy
- Discovered CoinChoose
- Discovered multi-coin pools
- Found a "local" market to easily dump fiat currency for coins
- Getting a decent graphics card (the first one is easy to justify)
- Pondering the APIs available
- Pondering Cryptostocks as a way to fund a project idea
Looking at the NXT coin. Have the client installed, can't say I'm much of a fan of Java, but you can't get started without already having a coin.
Not being THE most social person in the world I don't really feel like begging for one or whoring myself out via marketing tricks to "earn" one. If this coin is going to be "social" in some way I think I'll pass. You'll notice I'm not posting the stupid account number either!
Anyone have any pointers on setting up a pool?
In particular, how much effort/cost is it to administer one. For example, how difficult is it to detect and remedy block chain forks. How much time is spent helping nitwits (like me) figure out how to get their first wallet/miner running? Will a 1-2% donation cover the AWS infrastructure and traffic?
All in all, good times! Hi everyone. Hope I get to know some of you and can find a way to contribute something meaningful.
