as the title suggests, i'm just running a solo 7950.  Would I be better doing the scrypt currencies (lite, feather, d0ge..), or is the difficulty low enough it's worthwhile?

And what about the future prospects of this bizarre artform (currency)?

According to the Coinwarz calculator, the answer is a resounding no chance in hell. The 7950 has a hashrate of about 500 MH/s, which, with the current difficulty of devcoin, only gets you about 4 DVC per month. It costs more in electricity to run the card that the revenue you'd bring in.

Definitely not. At 500kh/s you can only mine 0.1326 Devcoins a day. Each Devcoin is only worth 0.00000185 BTC. It's literally the least profitable coin you can mine right now.
