Seeking personal headhunter to find me a better job $1500 on offer.

Hey guys. I'm in a bit of a self made pickle, and am turning to my fellow coiners for a leg up.

I currently work at UPS, making 8.50 usd hourly, and I rarely break 20 hours. This keeps me alive, but barely, so I'm looking for better work that actually uses my skills.

The problem is I'm a horrible salesmen. For various reasons, mostly my own failings, I'm just flat horrible at the job hunt. Frankly it drives me up a wall and stresses me out pretty badly...  So I thought I'd reach out and see if I could pay someone to help me out.

I'm not going into this skill free. I have a certificate in composite materials - fiberglass, carbon fiber, etc - and am perfectly at home making 3D models of basically anything. I've been having a really hard time finding open positions for that kind of thing that aren't requiring years of proven on the job experience.

I've been making 3D models for over 15 years as a hobby, with the hope of getting into the game industry doing it. It hasn't worked out that way though.

I have a resume, I have a past in the quality assurance area of video games, But wasn't able to go from there into any other position...

I'm also very interested in and knowledgeable about 3D printing.

So, anyone want to do some leg work for me and earn $1500 usd paid in Btc after I've gotten the job? Something I'm going into expecting to like it, and they pays at least close to the $15 hourly mark?

Or any ideas at least?

Ah, well, there's another wrinkle... I'm currently living in a friends living room, sleeping on his couch. My pc and mining hardware are on the coffee table... No landlines, desk or closed door in sight.

Why yes, that is a rather large part of why I want a better job. I'm actually at said friends (magic the gathering card game) shop right now, where I help out in exchange for that couch... I'll look at this further when I get home in a couple hours.

2) Some people go to study and are using different government support.

You think someone is going to secure a job for you? Don't mean to sound harsh but the world doesn't work like that. Prospective employers will want to meet you, not some "hired  guy". How would it look in their eyes?

There are two more things:
1) It is important to understand why the situation "as is". Because, it can be opportunity there.
2) Some people go to study and use different government support.

The situation is as it stands cause I've been unable to find the work I desire. The reasons for that are many, but I suspect mostly come to me failing at the search rather then any sort of "companies are unfair!" or such. Of course, I may not be as qualified as I think, but given my propensity to doubt my own work, I find that unlikely.

As far as returning to student life - I highly highly doubt I could get the kind of money I need to live from government loans and related programs. And if I did, I'd end up at the end of the degree still without a career, back to the job hunt, and with an even bigger mountain of debt then I currently sit atop.

I forgot to mention I'm living in the Dallas area of Texas in the US, and due to my fiance, am not looking to move. However, the right position could change that of course.

I really am more interested in finding something using my  talents rather then any random, yet decent paying, job. Though I wouldn't turn it down of course. I'm after the first step on a long term career path, not simply a job.

I'm bad enough at finding a job, let alone a career. I spent most of the last decade working in video game QA, perpetually trying to move up, but making no headway because of the desire for a career, not a mere job.

Well, I thought it was obvious they I'd send appropriate contact emails, make calls, go to interviews and so forth. It's the steps before that I'm asking for help. Talk to me, look at my skills and suggests changes to my resume and the like, then find jobs that meet my requirements which I'll then apply to, call, interview, etc.

I realize this may be utterly unrealistic, but I figured for the (negotiable) price of $1500, someone might be willing to help out.

Nothing wrong with the figure of $1500 for sure. Sounds like you need some kind of "employment mentor" rather than head-hunter. Just don't know if they exist. In the world we live in today where every service niche is filled, I'm sure they must do.

Sometimes people can not find quality job, because they have ADHD.
Your 3D modeling are hobby right now. It is a mechanical engineering. But to get job in that area you need some prove of formal training.

If you are passionate about something, 3D modelling, turn it into a home-based business.

We aren't all cut out to be "corporate types".

Nothing wrong with the figure of $1500 for sure. Sounds like you need some kind of "employment mentor" rather than head-hunter. Just don't know if they exist. In the world we live in today where every service niche is filled, I'm sure they must do.

i'd love that, i really would. but it goes back to the whole salesman thing. to be self employed, you have to get business... yourself, ya know? i'm not opposed to the idea at all, just never managed it. look at my signature for example. if i had enough stuff on there, maybe trolled around looking for people wanting custom work, i could make something of that. but i'm horrible at advertising it - and when i see someone mention custom work, i either point them to what they want (cause it exists without being custom made and they just couldn't find it) or... well, the one time a friend has wanted something custom and i couldn't find it... she DID end up hiring me to make a model for her and get it printed... gotta work on that.

Where about do you live? How far would you travel to work every day?

i live in bedford, texas, about twenty minutes from the DFW airport, where my UPS job is. i'm currently carpooling to that while i save to get my own ride. my credit is good enough to get financing, but i need the down payment and my current job wouldn't afford the monthly either. after the holidays i'll be making under 200 a week. even though i'm not paying rent, a car payment + gas and insurance would be just about 100 bucks to expensive. so i'm saving to buy a cheapo "eh, it drives..." until i find better work.

i grew up in los angeles. a long commute wouldn't bother me at all, and given my living situation, i'd just get an apartment or such closer to the job pretty quickly anyway. lets hear the ideas!
