I have a stupid problem, we are in the process of setting up the dwolla account so I can fund my mtgox account, the problem is that dwolla of course has the verification problem, which can take days till they get around to depositing the money so I can verify the account.
I need to purchase bitcoins for the bitcoin conference coming up so I can pay Bruce Wagner for a table spot! Hence I am unsure if it will verify on time... is there anyway I can purchase them now via paypal or credit card / debit card?
What complicates it is that Yooter is the one footing the bill for flexcoin... and since Yooter is legally a separate entity I have to buy the bitcoins on the open market or privately.
Anyone want to sell me 400 dollars worth of bitcoins at market rate + I'll add in 3% for paypal fees?
If this is in the wrong area feel free to move the post... but it does raise a question, it's somewhat of a barrier to trading when it does technically take a few days to setup an account?

I wired money to MtGox last week and had it on my account the same day (my local time)
My 8pm was already the next morning there
For what it's worth. Fees probably make it not worthwhile for $400 but for a bigger buy, it's not bad.

Companies claiming they got hacked and lost your coins sounds like fraud so perfect it could be called fashionable. I never believe them. If I ever experience the misfortune of a real intrusion, I declare I have been honest about the way I have managed the keys in Casascius Coins. I maintain no ability to recover or reproduce the keys, not even under limitless duress or total intrusion. Remember that trusting strangers with your coins without any recourse is, as a matter of principle, not a best practice. Don't keep coins online. Use paper or hardware wallets instead.

yea but I can't even wire them in yet as they didn't deposit the pennies for verification... hence it's slowing me down...

Thats why ExchB is so cool cause you can go into any wells fargo location and fund your account. Haven't done it yet but seems like that will give them a sure step up on teh competition.

By wiring I mean skipping dwolla and doing a bank to bank wire transfer straight to MtGox. The sort of transfer that usually costs a few tens of dollars, and often arrives within hours.

If you want to pay someone and you don't have a credit card, it still takes a few days to deposit money in a checking account and wait for it to clear.

That's over 300% annual interest, if my quick math is correct.

That's over 300% annual interest, if my quick math is correct. Bitcoins that I bought at $28 are now selling for $11 This is a highly volatile market, so why don't you make him a better offer?

because I need to spend them at the conference, hence I won't be able to pay him back.. literally the 40 coins or so would be gone and spent within a few hours after I get them. It's not like I have some way to magically make 84 coins back

I think at the conference there will be first Bitcoin ATM introduced that initially will take cash only, find that guy, maybe you will be able to do a real life test with it purchasing first bitcoins using his ATM. The thread shouldn't be buried far deep on this forum. Edit: this is the thread I'm talking about https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=36894.0Bruce probably has a contact with this guy btw I may be off on it being introduced at the conference, but somehow I was under impression that it is.

It's not like I have some way to magically make 84 coins back You would only need 44 bitcoins to pay me back (not 84). By the way, why don't you just buy the bitcoins you need from the Meze Grill right near the conference, for cash?

You could also buy them on https://bitmarket.eu using paypal. I did this a few times, and always had them within a few hours.

You can buy Bitcoins the same day with cash at http://exchb.com: 1) Sign up for a free account. Use referral code ahbritto27430 for 50% off trade fees for 30 days. 2) Go to the deposit page for instructions on how to make a cash deposit at any Chase or Wells Fargo branch. 3) Deposit your cash. 4) Send us an e-mail. 5) Buy bitcoins. I've seen a customer have his bitcoins within minutes of his deposit. Cheers, -Arthur

Bit market.eu, open an account, pay with paypal and you'll have your BTC in under an hour. Edit:if you happen to be in Canada, you should give Virtex a try (cavirtex.com)

Is here a reason you don't want to use ExchB as suggested earlier? You can deposit cash at a Wells Fargo or Chase and fund you account there in minutes.
