Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of both ?
I personally use Ledger Nano so I can vouch for it. It will allow you to store several altcoins along with your Bitcoin which is handy when you are keeping everything in one device.
Here you will find the list of supported coins for ledger neno: https://www.ledgerwallet.com/cryptocurrencies

Sorry for my ignorance on Trezor I really do not know much about it

Be happy be at peace. Looking forward to BTC at $1M

Pretty much almost the same in terms of usability and storage. Also pretty close in price, too. Personally I prefer the Ledger Nano S because it looks almost just like a typical USB thumb drive. Whereas the Trezor looks too "gimmicky" in my opinion. Looks too unnatural. If I were to hold big amounts of crypto, I wouldn't want people to know that I do hold crypto. Hence I prefer the flashdrive look of the Ledger Nano S.

I'd say the Ledger and the Trezor are the top 1 and 2. Which one is the top1? It depends on the person. A person prefer one over the other and vice versa. Just do research on both then decide for yourself.

I think that in the end, it's up to your personal preference in regard to the look of it.
Trezor is Open Source which some prefer, but there are reasons as to why Ledger Nano is closed source, so it's up to preference.
Both devices has had their exploits, and if there's any currently we probably won't know about it until something comes from it,
so order whichever one you think looks better! When I was getting a hardware wallet, the Ledger Nano had a long waiting queue, and was slightly more expensive.

This has been discussed numerous times before. There is no wrong choice, really. Check out the discussions to help you come to a decision (below)

What are the advantages and disadvantages of both ?

The most obvious is that Trezor supports some tokens and Ledger Nano supports a different set of tokens. There's some overlap but there are several well known tokens that are carried by one and not the other.

Trezor has great communication from the developers, they maintain a blog (https://blog.trezor.io/@satoshilabs) and announce all developments in very real time. They have great explanations on how to do things with their hardware wallet (e.g., claiming hard fork awards).

Ledger Nano is a hardware wallet I'm not as familiar with, so I'll let others preach its benefits or warn about its downfalls.

Ledger supports more coins than trezor does. And trezor is a little more secure than ledger. Ledger can only only a few apps at the same time but trezor doesn't need any app, you can access all your cryptos at the same time without having to install or uninstall anything. Trezor's updates are much better than ledger.
