Ok, i'm a total newbie in mining Smiley
After 1 day of setting-up, i was able to start cgminer with my radeon HD6990 and succesfully mine some dogecoins for the lulz Smiley Now i'm mining lottocoins, but this dosen't matter... only to say that i'm scryptmining.
My actual speed is about 260 kh/sec @ intensity 12, if i set intensity to 3 i'm getting a massive amount of HW errors and hashrate on the pool go down (but still seems high on the miner).
Any suggestion? Should I be happy @ 260 or i can get more?

id think you should get much higher rates on a 6990

somewhere in the area of 800KH/s is typical for 6990  so there is an issue somewhere....

Intensity is a different range for scrypt.  it goes up to 20, start increasing starting around 15 as long as it's stable and you should see a increase in hash rate. 6990s can doo 800+ scrypt with overclocks and tweaking.

so i have to wait some times and after that slowly increase intensity by 1?
I already notice this should work....but i have to start @ 12 or i'm getting a bunch of erreors. How much time i have roughly to wait before increasing by 1?

Sorry no you don't have to wait you can dial up intensity 18 and see how it goes, but the higher intensity the more likely it is to be unstable is all.  If you want you can set it at 20 and watch it (temp etc).
If you continue to get hardware errors and low hashrate there is a chance that one of the 2 gpus are bad which happens from time to on the dual gpu cards.

I was just suggesting setting the intensity at 15 see if it runs fine with minimal hardware errors, then stop it set it to 16, and so on until you find an acceptable setting on your way up towards 20 intensity.

i'll tryagain tomorrow, but today it seems i cannot get more than 270 Sad
If i set i=15 the hashrate goes up on the miner, BUT drastically go down on the pool to 60-70

cgminer intensity are

12-14 for low intensity (so the computer still has enough performance to be usable)
16-20 for high intensity (could be unstable and screen refresh rate suffers alot but will achieve high hash rate)

if your messing around i recommend you use GUIminer scrypt alpha until you know more about mining.

I don't know anything  Smiley

I'm using cgminer 2.7.something because i knew it was the last version to support GPU mining... with the newer version i was only get able to get a "no devices detected!" log. I have an i7... better to switch to CPU mining?

How i can get alpha-scrypt and properly set it up?

I really find this mining-thing exciting, many thanks to anybody replying (i can also give DOGE tips to people giving me suggestion, if u're interested Smiley )
