Wow that was refreshing! A solid report from a new Bitcoin market. It manages to cover a lot of ground, highlighting some of the pros and cons in a very professional way. Well done! Edit: I really overlooked Korea. I didn't realise that they have the 15th biggest economy in the world. (1 trillion USD+ GDP) and their income per capita is 5x that of China & nearly 8x that of India! I wouldn't be surprised if this market has a very big impact on BTCFrom Korbit (New Korean BTC exchange.) “Korea cannot take a back seat and ignore the changes that are sweeping the globe. The government must work together closely with the private sector to not fall behind in keeping up with the global innovative trend, and provide a platform for constructive discussion for such paradigm-changing issues.”

Didn't know they're that important. We have new player

this wouldn't be that surprising.. i think koreans even teach their young students on how to use the internet. they love technology and the interwebs. Wow that was refreshing! Didn't know they're that important. We have new player i think korea can be a pretty big player in the market. even though there are only 50 million south koreans, the % of their population that would adopt BTC would be much higher than a typical country. i think the ratio is probably even higher than in the U.S. just throwing arbitrary numbers out, but it could be something like double of a normal population.. which would make it similar to a country of $100,000.

Nice to see Bitcoin on the news in a segment that didn't either involve asinine amount of hype or laughable amounts of FUD. I am actually kinda shocked by what I just watched.

Very internet-centric society (and presumably a corresponding culture) in South Korea too. They've been leading the average "average household bandwidth" and "percentage of population with online access" statistics for years now.

Yeap South Korea is very Internet Friendly so am not surprised they cottoned on to the Bitcoin Idea plus Indians are also very Tech Savvy so it is about time we had new players. If BTC Trading was dominated only by Europeans and the Chinese then it would be like an open market war..We need some balance as to where all this coin is going to.

Agreed. South Korea could be a huge market depending on regulation. Not so sure about India though. Japan is very quiet?!?

Yes , but apart from MtGox being there and Satoshi Nakamoto having a Japanese name , not much happening in Japan , or at least no news about it.
