i was thinking to sell my bitcoins and buy ethereum what do you thinkl guys
Ethereum depends on the price of bitcoin and there is a clear correlation with the behavior of both coins.
At the same time, everything can happen on crypto market, so I wouldn't recommend buying solely one coin.
Instead you can make it 50/50.

If you want - do that.

I am not touching my BTC/LTC/ETH portfolio for two years. Sometimes I take BTC to invest in something that I feel hot.

Do your own research always and don’t listen those “Ilia Askey”. He could have been billionaire long time ago if he was not selling coins back to 2014 Smiley

I don't think so. Only trade if you know what you're doing and not asking people around with vague questions that aren't backed-up by facts that may convince anyone to trade. It's all up to you now to make a choice, but I personally would not do that and instead pool up some cash and buy ethereum instead.

This is a decision  you have to make by yourself, because there are times you may not be able to predict perfectly well what the outcome of any of the coins would be. Sometimes though, i prefer to invest in altcoins.
very true, doing your own research is very advisable than just listening to others, sometimes people speak without a strong foundation and just follow the trend only

Many of people here speak with barely any real technical analyzation that and that's the truth.
What I see from Ethereum is that the price heavily rely on bitcoin and if you convert BTC to ETH I think the result will be the same as for now. Both just have the same price movements.

I don't think that there is an urgent need in that, just make 50%-50% allocation and it will be 100% OK for you, going 50%+ for one of these is more risky I'd say.

I think you are wrong with that statement, the price of ethereum on ico was 35-40 cents and by then bitcoin was 600-800$ which is not 450$ and all that price improvements is not dependent on btc price because it also gained a satoshi value.

If I were you, here is what I will do, I would use half of the money to lock down bitcoin and use the other half to hold ethereum. But I won't just go for one but both.

I would not go for 50/50. Now is not a good time to sell Bitcoin. Ethereum is wonderful coin, but Bitcoin is running the show and every investor is following closely ehat is Bitcoins price, not Ethereums.

Your action is absolutely right now, as Ethereum is now much more appreciated by investors than BTC. You should exchange 50% of BTC to ETH then hold both BTC and ETH better than just hold ETH. After the exchange, you should hold at least 6 months to be able to make a profit.

If you have a prediction that Ethereum has a better prospect and can give you bigger profit, please just sell BTC and buy ETH. You must believe and believe in your analysis.

I personally have the view that BTC is the main axis of price movements of other coins, and Ethereum is a coin that has very good props, so I invest in both coins.

No question, Ethereum is a good coin to buy and hold for a long time, but converting all your Bitcoins to Ethereum is not a good idea. I would suggest that a portion of your Bitcoins to Ethereum like 20% to 30%. My Ethereum is just 15% of my total portfolio. Majority is Bitcoin. 20% for other Altcoins and Tokens.

It would be your choice. But personally, I do see both bitcoin and ethereum to be proportionally in the market such that when the price of eth is increasing, same thing happens with Bitcoin's market value. So investing to whether btc or eth will jist result to profit. The advantage on one another will be on which is having faster and easier transaction.

On point, good to have both invests in bitcoin and ethereum. I am not the type of a users who invest only in one coin so I prefer both in btc and ethereum. Converting all your btc to ethereum is not a wise moves btc as the best investment so also good to hold ethereum.

Yeah, I think that ethereum is a good choice. I also switched from bitcoin to ethereum. Although the position of ethereum is still below bitcoin but for the long term, ethereum has the potential for success beyond bitcoin. This ethereum is in the stage of building public trust. Indeed the ethereum blockchain platform is used by various ICOs to run their projects. However, ethereum has the aspiration to be more decentralized again making it more useful globally. The functioning of ethereum as the basis of this ICO project is one proof if the technology brought by ethereum is more useful than bitcoin. Moreover, ethereum is supported by smart contracts technology. Smart contracts is a great technology.

the etherium is a promising investment, but one can never invest only one coin. Divide your deposit and invest in several prospective projects.

That will be a very bad move in my opinion. Because ETH is already quite overpriced (I am not talking about its exchange rate versus fiat, but about its exchange rate versus BTC). And also, alts such as NEO and ADA are giving ETH quite a lot of competition.

I suggest not to do it. Converting your bitcoin to ethereum is a bad idea because these two coins are highly stable coin in the market and worth holding. If you have enough money in your pocket why not buying another investment like ethereum? And if you don’t have enough money, better to stay in bitcoin because it will give you profit.
Why not mate? Bitcoin and etherium are similar good coin and we can make much money from them. And now etherium has lower price which we can take the advantage from this. When the price low, we will be easier to double our profit like in etherium.

Actually bitcoin is the king of all coins, if you want to exchange your bitcoin to buy some ethereum that would be a bad move for you because once bitcoin is down the other coin will also be down. Eventhough ethereum is the second coin next to bitcoin, you should always stay at the king right?

For now, both Ethereum and Bitcoin are doing well on the market as each is experiencing a rise in price. In situations like this, it is always smart to apportion your investment into both Ethereum and Bitcoin just in case the rise of one overrides the other.
