Wallet Testing?

Hey im a complete noob to this, spent last 30 mins browsing the forums for an answer and followed a forum topic saying how to get free bitcoins. But still have not managed to find my answer. Iv mined a small amount myself but can not get it sent to my wallet until i have at least 0.01. Only thing is im trying to confirm my wallet is working first before hand. I am using Bitcoin - Wallet a long with Bitminter and under the "Receive" tab of the wallet i see an address which i think is mine. Iv tried multiple websites of putting that address in and they all say "Come back in x hours/days to try again" or "You must have x amount stored before withdrawing". All im trying to do is actually confirm my wallet works.

Bitcoin - Wallet is fully synced with the network (was previously trying to use Armory but it after 9 hours of synchronising and building the database it decided to crash every time i started it, even after resetting the settings) and no matter what i do the Balance and Unconfirmed sections just stay at 0.00 BTC. Is there a surefire way of getting the most highest divisible amount of a bitcoin to test the wallet, or do i have to come back every hour to these websites and wait until i accumulate enough to get it sent to my wallet and hope that it works?

Also the wallet address is totally unique to me right? Like i could give it to someone else and they cant do anything with it that might compromise my account?

Yes, just be sure to only give out your public key and not your private one.

Have you checked out some faucets to get some free BTC and to try test your wallet? Try PrimeDice's: https://primedice.com/

You have to gamble with it before you can cash out but is easy to do.

Ah thank you for clarifying that. I have not sent any or made any bitcoins yet so will find out about private key whenever that happens.
I am on Primedice now (thanks for posting that, seems like a nice simple site) but i do not see the free 0.00000100 BTC that you get when starting. It just says me balance is 0.00000000, i appreciated the posts for such noob questions and troubleshooting. Ill keep at it until i figure it out :p

Use the testnet for all wallet testing, those bitcoins are easy to get from a faucet, and are worthless.

I came across testnet during my research and did try to use it, i inputted my address here: https://i.imgur.com/NMz1i52.png

Then put in the captcha and pressed ok and i was greeted with a blank page however (https://i.imgur.com/BcBP9S6.png), sometimes when i try it and press ok i am greeted with an error: https://i.imgur.com/AZuGEt1.png (i double checked to make sure the captcha was correct and it is)

Can we test importing private keys within testnet, I want mock-test that before moving my BTC to a paper wallet.

Yes you can, testnet is just a different bitcoin blockchain with some parameters changed to make sure you know it is the testnet.
